Music has always had a positive influence on my life, starting from a young age when my mother took me to an Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performance. Although I did not fully grasp the complexities of the music back then, I knew I wanted to be part of something extraordinary. My passion for playing an instrument truly ignited in middle school when I joined the school’s Concert Band and selected the saxophone. I became captivated by the instrument and committed myself to practicing daily. As I immersed myself in music, I discovered jazz and was deeply inspired by the sounds of talented musicians like Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Ron Carter, and Miles Davis. Their influence solidified my desire to pursue a career in music. Through my experiences in concert band, I realized how much I loved music and wanted to share that passion as a Music Educator. My goal is to inspire students to play and help them experience the joy of making music. The influence of music has been a powerful source of inspiration for me, helping me navigate many challenges and fears. When my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, my world felt like it was falling apart. During those difficult times, music became the anchor for both of us. I would play my instrument to uplift her spirits, and it brought me immense joy to see her smile during our moments together. She was incredibly proud of my progress with the saxophone, which motivated me to push myself even harder, especially knowing that our time together felt uncertain. My personal mantra, “never settle for second best,” has driven my commitment to improving my craft. I have consistently maintained my position as first chair and have participated in the district honor band every year since the sixth grade. I believe that music is a powerful force for creativity, discipline, teamwork, and it also serves has a positive influence for many people. As a future Music Educator, I plan to give back to the world though the young people that I will teach, by allowing them to work and grow in an environment where they feel valued and encouraged to explore their musical talents and desires. One of my main desires is to use music to encourage growth and focus to motivate students who struggle with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Music is the universal language that speaks through feeling and expressions. Making one of my main objectives as a Music Educator to encourage a love and drive for music where students will be free to express themselves and collaborate with each other on a higher musical level. I plan to introduce a variety of musical experiences, including ensemble playing, composition, improvisation, and transposition. Every student has unique ideas waiting to be heard, and I hope to ignite their passion and build their confidence. Ultimately, my goal is to inspire the next generation of musicians and leaders regardless of any disabilities, empowering them to use music as a tool for personal growth and community engagement.

My passion for music began at an early age when my mother took me to see an Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performance, even though I was young, and I could not understand the complexity of the music, I knew I wanted to someday be a part of something this amazing. My passion for playing an instrument did not begin until I went to middle school, there I joined the schools Concert Band. This is where I truly began to realize how much I loved music and wanted to continue my musical career as a Music Educator. I want to be able to inspire students to play and understand the joy of playing an instrument. Music inspires me to overcome challenges and fears, when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 my world felt as though it was falling apart, and music was the force that kept me strong for both of us. I would play my instrument to uplift her spirit during the difficult times and I genuinely enjoyed seeing the joy on her face during these times together. This made me want to work even harder and challenge myself to do better for her as I did not know how long I would have with her.
