    McClendon Leadership Award
As a first-generation college student who is actively involved in several organizations and has served on at least three executive boards. My involvement in these organizations has given her a unique perspective on leadership and its importance. For me, leadership is not just about being in charge or having power over others. It is about being a role model and setting an example for others to follow. To me, a good leader is someone who is honest, fair, and empathetic. They are someone who listens to others and takes their opinions into account when making decisions. They are also someone who is willing to admit when they are wrong and take responsibility for their actions. A good leader is not afraid to take risks and try new things, but they also know when to ask for help and collaborate with others. I believe that leadership is important because it can bring people together and make a difference in the world. As a first-generation college student, I know that my success is not just about me, but also about the people who have supported me along the way. I want to be a leader who can inspire others to reach their full potential and make a positive impact on their communities. I have seen firsthand how a good leader can inspire others to work together towards a common goal. I have been part of different organizations and has served on executive boards, so I also has seen how a leader can motivate and encourage others to achieve their objectives. I believe that leaders should set high standards for themselves and others, but also be understanding and compassionate when things do not go as planned. Being a first-generation college student has made her appreciate the value of leadership even more. I know that I had to work hard to get where I am today, but I also knows that I could not have done it alone. I have also had the support of family, friends, and mentors who have encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I want to be a leader who can provide that same encouragement and support to others. In conclusion, I believe that leadership is important because it can inspire others to achieve their goals and make a positive impact on their communities. I believe that a good leader is someone who is honest, fair, and empathetic, and who is willing to take risks and collaborate with others

The power of diverse voices in public relations can have a significant impact on shaping public narratives. Public relations is a critical component of any organization's communication strategy, and it involves managing the relationships between an organization and its stakeholders. These stakeholders include customers, employees, shareholders, and the broader public. In today's society, diversity and inclusion are essential components of effective public relations.
