From an early age, I have been deeply fascinated by the dental profession, a passion that intensified when I underwent orthodontic treatment. Witnessing the transformation that proper dental care can bring to a smile and the accompanying boost in self-esteem was a pivotal moment for me. It highlighted the significant role oral health plays—not only in aesthetics but also as a crucial component of overall wellness. As I matured, I recognized the strong correlation between oral health and general health. Neglecting oral hygiene can lead to severe health complications, including heart disease, diabetes, and infections. This understanding fuels my dedication to becoming a dental hygienist—not merely to perform cleanings, but to educate and empower patients to take charge of their health through effective oral care. I take my academic pursuits seriously, currently maintaining a GPA of 3.6, which reflects my dedication to achieving high standards. I aim to be more than just a diligent student; I aspire to be a role model both in and out of the classroom. My ultimate ambition is to become a skilled and empathetic dental hygienist who champions preventive care and makes a meaningful impact in the community. However, the journey toward this career path presents financial hurdles. Fully committed to my education, I recognize the necessity of financial readiness to reach my objectives. Receiving this scholarship would significantly alleviate the financial strain of tuition and related costs, enabling me to concentrate more on my studies and clinical training. This assistance would not only support my educational aspirations but also bring me closer to a future where I can contribute to society—serving patients, advocating for health, and making a positive difference in the dental field.

As an international student pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene in the United States, I am deeply committed to utilizing my education and future career to positively impact oral health care in my home country, Pakistan. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the challenges and disparities in access to quality dental care, particularly in underserved communities. This firsthand experience ignited a passion within me to address the systemic issues contributing to inadequate oral health care in Pakistan. A primary focus of my contribution to Pakistan's oral health care will be through addressing the lack of awareness about oral hygiene practices and preventive measures. In many communities across Pakistan, there exists a significant gap in knowledge regarding oral health, leading to a higher prevalence of preventable dental diseases. My training in dental hygiene equips me with the skills to develop educational programs emphasizing oral hygiene practices, proper nutrition, and regular dental check-ups. By empowering individuals with this knowledge, I aim to significantly reduce the burden of dental diseases in Pakistan. Additionally, I am driven to expand access to dental care in rural and remote areas of Pakistan where individuals often suffer from dental problems due to limited access to services. As a dental hygienist, I plan to collaborate with local communities and healthcare organizations to establish mobile dental clinics and outreach programs. These initiatives will bring essential dental services directly to underserved populations, thereby improving oral health outcomes and overall quality of life in these areas. Furthermore, I recognize the importance of addressing socio-economic factors that impact oral health disparities in Pakistan. Poverty, lack of education, and inadequate infrastructure are significant barriers to accessing dental care in many parts of the country. Therefore, in addition to providing direct clinical services, I am committed to advocating for policy changes that prioritize oral health promotion and equitable access to care. By working with policymakers and community leaders, I aim to influence systemic changes that will have a lasting impact on oral health outcomes in Pakistan. Moreover, I believe in the power of collaboration and knowledge sharing to advance oral health care on a global scale. Through participation in international conferences, research collaborations, and exchange programs, I intend to contribute to the global body of knowledge in dental hygiene and bring innovative practices back to Pakistan. By staying connected with the international dental community, I can leverage best practices and emerging technologies to improve the quality of care in my home country. In conclusion, my education and future career in dental hygiene present a unique opportunity for me to make a meaningful difference in oral health care in Pakistan. Through initiatives focused on education, access, advocacy, and international collaboration, I am committed to improving oral health outcomes and promoting overall well-being in underserved communities. As a non-U.S. citizen, my pursuit of education has been marked by challenges, resilience, and a relentless determination to overcome barriers. This scholarship opportunity resonates deeply with my journey, and I am compelled to share my experiences and aspirations. Upon arriving in the United States, my family faced the immediate need to secure employment for basic survival. My father embarked on a relentless job hunt, facing racial prejudice and hardships due to our non-citizen status. We did not even have the work permits that would grant us legal employment rights. These permits came after a prolonged and financially burdensome process, but we persevered. I, too, recognized the urgency of contributing to my family's well-being and started seeking employment. Unfortunately, my initial job experience was disheartening. I encountered a manager who exhibited racism and subjected me to demeaning comments. Determined not to compromise my dignity, I made the difficult decision to leave that job. Undeterred by this setback, I explored alternative means of income. I took up babysitting and began offering home tutoring services. These jobs allowed me to support my family while maintaining a semblance of financial stability. However, they also reinforced my belief in the value of education and inspired me to pursue higher learning. Currently, I am pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Dental Hygiene. This educational path aligns with my passion for healthcare and my desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. However, the journey has not been without its challenges. Financial difficulties persist, making it an ongoing struggle to balance the costs of education with my family's needs. My pursuit of higher education is driven by several factors. Firstly, I am committed to breaking the cycle of limited opportunities that often confront undocumented students. I believe that education is the key to a brighter future, not only for me but for my family and community as well. Furthermore, my career goals are rooted in my determination to give back to society. I aspire to become a dental hygienist, providing essential oral healthcare services to underserved populations. I am driven by a desire to ensure that individuals, regardless of their background, have access to quality dental care. In pursuing higher education, I am not only fulfilling my personal dreams but also honoring the sacrifices my family has made. I am determined to be a beacon of hope for them and for other undocumented students who face similar challenges. In conclusion, my journey as an undocumented student in the United States has been marked by hardship, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to education. This scholarship would not only alleviate the financial strain on my family but also empower me to continue my educational journey and work towards my career goals as a dental hygienist. I am dedicated to breaking down barriers, advocating for the value of education, and giving back to my community in meaningful ways.

This heartwarming film is based on the true story of Dr. Hunter "Patch" Adams, a medical student who believes in the healing power of humor, compassion, and personal connection in the field of medicine. While it may not be directly related to Dental Hygiene, the movie underscores the importance of empathy and patient-centered care in healthcare professions, values I aspire to incorporate into my future career. As a Muslim, I consider my commitment to lifelong learning and self-improvement to be my greatest achievement thus far. I believe in the values of education, empathy, and compassion promoted by Islam, and I strive to embody these values in my everyday life. While I am at the beginning of my academic journey in Dental Hygiene, I am determined to uphold these principles and make a positive impact on the oral health and well-being of individuals and communities in the future. Dental hygiene programs are rigorous, and balancing coursework, clinical rotations, and part-time work can be challenging. With financial support from this scholarship, I would have the opportunity to devote more time and energy to my education and gain valuable hands-on experience. In conclusion, my passion for the dental field was kindled by personal experiences, family values, and exposure to the rewarding nature of dentistry through shadowing and volunteering. This scholarship would be a pivotal aid in my journey towards becoming a dental hygienist by easing financial constraints, enabling me to focus on my education and clinical training, and supporting my ongoing professional development. Ultimately, my goal is to use my skills and knowledge to provide quality dental care, just as I once experienced the life-changing benefits of orthodontic treatment myself.

With its captivating intellectual challenges and deep connections to virtually every aspect of life, mathematics is a fascinating subject. Mathematics students have access to a wide range of career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and the humanities. Math also sharpens our critical thinking and builds problem-solving skills. I, myself, have always been a curious student. I ask a thousand of questions out of curiosity. I think this is one of the reasons why I love math so much. I have always loved to solve problems and I don't ever give up till I find the solution of a problem. I have also given home tuition to some students for more than 6 months. One of the students I had was not really a fan of math and often had problems with this particular subject. I used to play math games with him which he loved very much. I motivated him and helped him with in every way possible and it was our hard work that he got really good at this subject with the passage of time. He also started getting good grades in his tests and exams of math. Math is useful in many ways. But most importantly, it helps our brain to circulate. The ideal thought you will get from practicing math is a feeling of accomplishment if you ponder genuinely. Brain growth is very fast during childhood. Math facilitates brain muscle development when a child processes it in the mind, by placing pressure on the muscles while making them stronger. To strengthen intellectual skills and improve memory, human brains require mental exercise and math is just the answer. Some other significant roles of math include better decision-making skills, improved analytical thinking, stronger memory and sharp mental dexterity. As you learn math, you are motivated to learn more knowledge/information and accomplish more goals. A strong mathematics background prepares individuals to be rational and to reason in a methodical manner, which is necessary for their ability to develop ideas, to criticize, and to generalize.

I'm pursuing Healthcare and Medicine. When used properly, science can be a powerful tool for acquiring knowledge. A significant contribution to knowledge production is made by science. This helps to maintain democracies and drive innovation, as well as make countries more competitive internationally. That is why it is not just valuable, but essential as well. We can depend on it to make our lives longer and healthier, to monitor our health, to provide us with medicine to treat illnesses, to ease aches and pains, and to provide us with basic necessities such as drinking water. The smartphones and laptops we have today are a result of science. Also, they are developing and evolving in a short period of time thanks to science. It's the same with transportation. We have come a long way since the Wright brothers invented the airplane. They come in different types, and even comfort on flights is improving. It is also true for land transportations as they have different types, shapes and even sizes. It can also be said for water transportation. We are surrounded by science in every aspect of our lives. It is involved in our daily lives. Making decisions requires using critical thinking, which is a critical component of science. Critical thinking does not only affect our views but also the way we treat people. Before making any decision, regardless of how big or small it is, we should think carefully about the consequences it might have on us and those around us. Thus, it is also vital to educate the younger generation about science so that they can make the right decisions when they grow up and begin to shape our lives. Let them be inspired by their curiosity and enhance their minds as early as possible, as they are the ones who will live and change the world in the future. A scientific approach teaches us to collect facts from as many sources as possible, evaluate their validity, analyze the data, remove bias opinions from the results, and provide a conclusion based on ethical principles, so that the public can utilize this information to its maximum benefit. Every aspect of society is affected by science, from pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and technology to even the most mundane of daily activities such as heating water or sending text messages. With its discoveries of DNA and the internet, science has influenced our understanding of who we are and what we are capable of, extending our lifespan, connecting us, and improving our quality of life. The advancement of science has enabled us to better understand how to manage diseases through diet, along with medication where necessary. As we face many challenges in an era of ever-increasing uncertainty, science may be able to save us.
