My life goal is to become successful at my major in college which is cybersecurity engineering and also have the opportunity to play college football as well. Being able to play high school football taught me discipline, how to take criticism, better time management, and structured me into a better person. The reason why I choose cybersecurity engineering as my major is because I’ll be able to create protective systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks. This is interesting to me because I'll be stopping people from stealing valuable information which is called cyberattacks. In this field of profession I can stop them from accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information, as well as taking money from people through ransomware, or interrupting normal business transactions. When I have free time outside of school I like to hangout with friends, watch movies, go bowling, workout out at the gym, listen to music and go to my high school basketball games. My extracurricular activities include helping out in the community, playing football, and meetings for the National Honors Society Club.

Being a first-generation college student influences my career goals because I would be the only one in my family becoming a cyber security engineer.I say this because Cybersecurity engineering feels like the perfect career path for me because my curiosity and problem solving skills find a natural outlet in the constant challenge of anticipating cyber threats. I enjoy dissecting complex systems, understanding their vulnerabilities, and devising solutions a core aspect of cybersecurity engineering. The ever evolving landscape of technology, with its new devices and software, fuels my desire for continuous learning of cybersecurity. The critical importance of cybersecurity in today's world sits deeply with me. From protecting individual privacy to safeguarding national infrastructure, the role of a cybersecurity engineer carries a significant amount of weight. Knowing that my work contributes to a safer digital environment provides a strong sense of purpose and fulfillment. The increasing reliance on technology across everything, from finance and healthcare to energy and transportation, it ensures the relevance and demand for skilled professionals in this field, offering a good long term career stability.
In conclusion, the multi faced nature of cybersecurity engineering adds to my diverse interests. Cybersecurity engineering blends elements of computer science, networking, cryptography, and even psychology. This approach keeps the work engaging, the opportunity to specialize in specific areas like penetration testing, incident response, or security architecture allows for focused development and expertise. The constant learning and the crucial societal contribution nature of cybersecurity engineering combine to create a career path that aligns perfectly with my aspirations and values.
Lotus Scholarship
Growing up in a single parent household has been a huge factor in shaping my resilience and perseverance. The challenges I faced, such as financial instability and the need to take on more responsibilities at a young age, taught me the importance of hard work, work ethic, and determination. These experiences gave me the skills to navigate through difficulties and to persevere through adversity. I plan to use my life experiences to make a positive impact in my world by making sure whenever I have my family I'm going to make sure we’re financially stable so we won’t have to worry about the struggle of getting things we want and need.
