Sarah F. Watson and James E. Dashiell Scholarship
Chairty is a wonderful thing as an African American man, and it helps people who are in need. It provides for the people that don't have it, and it gives people hope, leading to a stronger society. The reason why charity is so important to me is because there are a lot of people who are in need of things and don't have the funds to get it. Whether its proving food, shelter, or other purposes just the act of kindness is great. It is a responsibility to help bring other up and contribute to a better world. I will commit myself to helping other in need and give back financially or anyway I can. As I pursue my career in engineering, I hope to create opportunities for these future generations. Receiving this scholarship would not only help me out with my education but also allow me to bring a great change to this world. My goal is to make a difference in this life, just as this will make a difference in mine.
Anderson Engineering Scholarship
Engineering is not just a career of choice for us; it represents how to solve problems and create impacts on this world. My interest in engineering stems from a curiosity about how things work and a desire to contribute to advancing people's lives and improving them. When I was a young little boy, I was always mesmerized by all these technologies that were being created and how they shaped the world around us. Whether it was just watching TV or how the AC in the house keeps everyone warm or cool, the mechanics of the machines that work on these things help everyone survive and thrive. I was always drawn to understanding how it all functioned, like cars, computers, and other machines. As a first-generation student, pursing engineering is about accepting the challenge and breaking the barriers and improving the opportunities that are available before me. The field of engineering lacks diversity in some areas, and I am determined to be part of the next generation that helps people out and change that. Whether it's in infrastructure or technology. I want to design things that will solve real world problems like climate change.
I have not yet had the opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience. I am very eager to do so soon. I understand the application is important in the field of engineering, and I am seeking an internship to allow me to understand and have hands-on experience. With this. I am ready to embrace every learning opportunity that comes my way. Still the lack of direct hands-on exposure, I have been developing my solving skills and thinking throughout my academic journey. I will continue to do so. Beyond just technical skills, I am excited to experience the real nature of engineering. The idea of working with teams to design solutions will help me get out of my comfort zone and grow and become a leader. College will provide me with the perfect foundation for me to collab with wonderful people and immerse myself in the learning process that will shape my future career.
In conclusion, my long-term goal is to pursue my degree in this engineering field and create technology that will help future generations and families. By having access to this scholarship, I will have an opportunity to prove that passion. I am ready to put in the work and earn this. So, thank you for considering my application and I will use it to forge a successful path in engineering.
HBCU STEM Scholarship
The importance of going to college is first to make my family proud and get my Master's degree in the end. Also, I want to get out of my comfort zone. Ever since my childhood, I've struggled with shyness, and college will push me to step outside my comfort zone. Going to college will help me develop and grow into an adult. Additionally, college is a once in a lifetime experience. I will meet new people and get my education. Throughout college, I will learn more about myself and go through events to shape me into an adult. As a first-generation person, attending college isn't my dream, it's my family's also. Getting an education has always been my goal for a better future. Pursing STEM at an HBCU is great. Alabama A&M University is a path toward personal and professional growth. I know college will push me out of my comfort zone, shaping me into a stronger person and solving problems. Another reason is that my family have sacrificed so much to give me this opportunity and I want to show them that their efforts in trying to get me into this school will not go in vain. Furthermore, college is where I will develop my knowledge and skills in the STEM field. It is a field that allows me to be creative, be myself, and contribute to this world. Beyond just the academic aspects, I hope my college experience is filled with great moments of personal growth and discovering myself. I want to join student organizations like NSBE, explore internships, and form connections with other people that will last a lifetime. Becoming an active member of my community and helping people out is a goal of mines too. I see college as an opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and that will challenge me and gain that life experience that will shape me into a good person. It's not just about getting that degree, it's about developing my skills as a person. In the future, I hope to use STEM education to have a lasting impact on this society. In conclusion, winning this scholarship would mean more than just financial help. It would be a great investment in my future, my family's future, and my ability to create positive change in this world. I am determined to seize this opportunity college has to offer, and I know this experience will be a big step in my life and for my success, I see it in myself.
