The reason I want to go to Schreiner University is because this has always been my dream school. I learned from a very young age that I wanted to go to college and make something of myself because I didn't want to live the way my parents lived. They had me at a very young age and I lived a harder life because of it and I think that made me stronger and more determined to make something of myself. I have 13 siblings and I'm the oldest, so I knew that I needed to set a good example for them and I knew to do that I needed to work hard in school and to make sure I could get a scholarship for school because that was the only way I was gonna be able to get into college. I worked hard and was able to graduate 6 months early and that motivated me even more to want to go to college because I would be the first one in my family to ever attend and finish college. While my academic journey has provided me with knowledge my personal experience have given me an emotional strength to fight for a good future. One of the most defining moments in my life was witnessing the care nurses gave to my grandmother during her cancer treatment, in that moment it hit me that nursing is what I wanted to do I alway loved to take care of people and make them the best they can be. When I seen that the nurses did exactly that for my grandmother it clicked and I knew I wanted to be a nurse from then on. When I seen firsthand how much a nurse could help someone just by them coming in with a smile on their face, I seen how their metrical duties were the base of everything for my grandmother how their reassurance and stability in difficult times made everything better for her. I knew that I had what it took to do nursing from then physical alignment to providing emotional strength to patients and their families.Nursing was a dream I didn't even know I had, but it gave me a sense of self it was something I feel like I could be proud of doing. Something I knew I would love no matter how hard it got, because it was helping people and the families around them.
