Raise Me Up to DO GOOD Scholarship
My name is Kyle Conne, and I currently attend North Central Texas College in Flower Mound, Texas! Throughout my whole life, my parents and my siblings have been my absolute biggest role models and have helped me choose what I would like to pursue in my future. My parents had very different level of smarts, as my mom was very good in reading, writing, and drawing, and my dad was very good at science, math, and physical things. Neither of them went to college, so they have made it their mission to make sure all of their kids got a college education and got a degree!
My parents growing up were not very well off financially, so none of them had the opportunity to go to college and get a degree for what they liked. My dad absolutely loved working on cars, and my mom loved working retail in downtown areas! They've always told their kids that no matter what, we are going to college, and we will get a degree in whatever field we like. The field that both my brother and I absolutely love is accounting! I got a lot of my dad's smarts in math and science, and I want to use it in a really good way.
Accounting can be a really awesome tool that I could use to help other people out that don't have the same education as me. I definitely plan on making a company where it makes getting a financial advisor affordable, and this would help a lot of people out because a lot of people don't know how to save, invest, and do many other things and I think that could really benefit them. Around 52% of Texas lives paycheck to paycheck, and if they learned how to manage their money a little more effectively, I believe they'd be able to get out of living that way and start living the way that they want to. Whatever money I earn through this company, if I make any money at all, I will put it into helping out the churches my wife and I would go to, the athletics that the school and town have, and help out some charities! Giving is very important to my religion, and it is also a part of Dave Ramsey's five foundations, which I have found to be a very good podcast to listen to, and I learned a lot about him in high school!
Thank you!

My name is Kyle Conne, and I currently attend North Central Texas College in Flower Mound, Texas. Back in my olden days in high school about one year ago, I played baseball and ran the 4X100, 4X200, and 4X100 in track! I had many obstacles trying to play both of these sports at the same time, but my biggest obstacle was my senior year being my first year in track, and I had to beat all my competition on the team to become the number one man for the team. With absolutely zero training and having no clue how track worked, I had a lot of work to do.
My whole life I played baseball, and I had a natural talent of speed. At the beginning of the off-season, I had to show my coach what I was all about, so every single drill I went 110% to show him how dedicated I was to be the number one guy. The coach all of my off-season called me "baseball kid" and didn't actually know my first name, so I knew I had some work to do to get my name out there. After a month or so, the team did our first trial run to see where everyone places, and I ran a 11.2 second 100-meter dash, and I knew that was not going to be good enough to be the main guy.
After seeing my progress of the 100-meter dash, I took more accountability for my training so I started leading stretches with the other seniors, I would lead the workouts, I trained outside of school, and I kept that going for the remainder of the off season. This seemed to have worked out very well because the coach started to see how hard I've been working, and he even stopped calling me "baseball kid" every time he would talk to me. During this time, the coaches recognized that I had a weakness of getting off the blocks good, so I had many practices where that was my main priority, and after winter break, my first meet was starting up fast.
My first track meet came, and I was so happy to be running my first ever track meet, and everyone had high expectations for me. I was facing one of the top 25 100-meter dash runners in my heat, and I had to show everyone that I could at least compete with the top guys. I finished the race with a 11.09 second run, and I finished fourth place, only losing the race by 0.3 seconds. I continually got better throughout the season, and in my final meet ever, I ran a 10.83 second 100-meter dash, beating my first one by almost .3 seconds!
Thank you so much!

Kalia D. Davis Memorial Scholarship
My name is Kyle, and I am currently attending community college at North Central Texas College! I am 19 years old, and I plan to attend Utah Valley University next year in pursuit of an accounting degree. This scholarship would help me a lot because I am going to have to pay out of state tuition and that's going to put me into quite a bit of student loan debt. I am a first-generation student, and both of my parents are blue collar workers that want their kids to get a college degree so that they don't have to go through the physical aspect that they had to work their whole life.
The reason I am going out of state to Utah Valley University is to pursue a girl I've dreamed of my whole life. We are high school sweethearts, and she got accepted to Brigham Young University and she is around 20 hours away from me. I really believe that this girl is the one for me, and being able to have the college experience with the person I love most would be the best thing I could ever dream of happening. Distance is a big struggle for me, and being able to close the gap into a ten-minute drive away would be the biggest blessing I could ask for.
Going out of state would not only bring me closer to the person I love, but it would help me become independent, and know what life is like away from my family. I've learned so many skills throughout my life to help me when I'm on my own, and this would be the perfect time to see life on my own! I am the youngest child in my family, and my siblings have always said that it's an amazing feeling being away on your own with no one to tell you what's right and wrong. Going to Utah Valley University would set me up for my future!
As someone with blue collar parents, they don't have a lot of money, and they believe going to college would set my future up financially. When I was very active in sports when I was little, I wasn't able to play baseball some years become it was too much money, and I want to set my kids future up so well, and I want them to be able to play all the sports they every want. This money would help me with the tuition and housing costs I would have to pay, and I am very thankful that I have the opportunity to go to college!
Thank you!
FIAH Scholarship
My name is Kyle, and I am currently a freshman in community college! My goal in life is to be successful enough to where I can not only support my family, but to also support my local community! The community is very important to me because I know that everyone has their own struggles in life, and with the direction the world is leading, it'll only get harder. So many people are struggling with their finances, and I would love to help everyone I can! Without my community, I would not be the man I am today, and I would not be able to do so many things without them.
The first positive impact I would do for my community is give money to my church so they can do all the upgrades they've wanted to always do. Faith is very important to me, and making church more enjoyable can bring so many more people closer to Jesus and God! My girlfriend is a part of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church, and I am a part of the Baptist church, and being able to have community events with both of these churches would make church fun! Without my faith, I would not be where I am to do day!
The next positive impact I would do for my community is help out the school's sports teams. I personally think sports are very important for kids because it helps them learn how to work together, it teaches them what a community is like, it takes them away from electronics, and it is very good exercise. Sports has taught me so many valuable lessons throughout my life, and the most important one to me is continuing to push after failing. Failure is a part of life, and being able to get up and keep going after something bad happens will lead you to success.
The last positive impact I would do specifically with my degree of accounting, is to make a firm that makes having a financial advisor affordable. A financial advisor has personally helped my parents be smarter with their money, and a lot of people don't know ways to set themselves up for their future. Around 52% of Texas is living paycheck to paycheck, and setting up a financial plan that is affordable and can set up their retirement/future would be something I would love to do. Many people's financial goal is to live stress free from money, and I believe having someone to help you make a budget and teach you the best ways to use your money would be amazing!

My name is Kyle, and I am from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. I am 18 years old, and I am originally from Chicago, and I love to run, go to the gym, make videos, and hangout with my friends. I attended Flower Mound High School and recently graduated on June 1, 2025, and I am currently at North Central Texas College getting my associate's degree in accounting. After community college, I really want to go out of state to Utah Valley University because it's beautiful out in Utah.
Throughout high school, I learned that mental health is something that really needs to be taken care of, because if it's not taken care of, your life will start to plummet. I personally went through this problem my eighth-grade year before going into college because I was brand new to Texas, I had no friends, and I had no motivation since Covid made it easy to sit at home and do nothing. All I would do during the summer and even the school year was play video games, and that lead to me becoming a little chunky, I didn't care for my hygiene as much, and it led to depression at a young age. I struggled to make friends, and that didn't help my mental health, so I decided to start and try to fix some things about myself. During high school I made friends, but I ended up getting bullied due to me being short and scrawny, so I went into another depression period. I learned that I need to stick up for myself, and I need to not let other people get to me so much, so I started working on myself and started to not take other people's words as seriously, and that has helped me to this day. One other thing that ruined me mentally was the lack of women in my life, and how I couldn't seem to get a girlfriend no matter how hard I tried. I always thought that having a girlfriend meant you were good looking and popular, and I went from the popular kid in Chicago to just a kid with a few friends. Entering my Junior year, I got a girlfriend, and this helped me feel very confident about myself and she has pushed me to become the best version of myself. I use this motivation to help me succeed in college and I also have motivation to be successful, so I have a future that's bright ahead of me.
