I'm definitely a fan of LeBron James but it isn't for basketball! I know it may seem odd because all we see is him in the media as a superstar /pro basketball player but I see more than that. Lebron James is inspiring and motivating to our youth. LeBron James was born in Akron, Ohio and anyone who's knows anything about Akron, Ohio it isn't the best city to live in. There is poverty and high crime and it isn't a very motivating city. I know because I have a few relatives there; one is deceased, two are drug addicts and homeless, and the others are struggling just to pay bills and rent. Even though poverty and drugs are everywhere, with LeBron being from Akron, he made it out and became successful. With young people from Akron or anywhere seeing this, it is a prime example of even though you're surrounded by negativity you can overcome it. Don't let your surroundings control your future. Break the generational curse and if you have the drive you can accomplish anything. In addition by him being from Akron, some may think it is nothing there or nowhere to go but it's also definitely an example of using your resources. There's obviously places he went and people he spoke to that helped him along the way. What this tells me is that no matter what environment you are in, there are always programs, groups, and mentors available but it is up to me to take the initiative and drive to do your own research. It is good to reach out and communicate with someone and tell them what you want to accomplish and ask for help. Once LeBron James became successful he decided to give back to the community and started a tutoring and college scholarship program. This is the most inspiring because he is the true definition of wanting to make a difference because he lived first hand experience and he knows how difficult it was and he wants others to succeed like he did. He wants to uplift and help motivate others and give them more opportunities to become greatness. Lebron James is selfless, motivating, and inspirational. He not only inspires the youth but inspires my parents, educators, and those all around him. Lastly, I guess he's a great basketball player too!!
