I’ve always wanted to be the one who responds when someones reality collapses. When everything is going wrong, I wanted to be the one who could show up and make things better. As a firefighter I’m able to help my community out of the worst situations they could find themselves in, day or night. After joining as a junior member my junior year of high school, I found a community of people who were even more motivated than myself. Individuals who trained daily without pay so that one day they could respond out of a dead sleep to someone in need. It was the brotherhood of firefighters I joined that motivated me to be better and to join the Marine Corps as a reservist.
