I love how Aristotle describes leadership; he believed that the main role of the leader is to create an environment in which all members of a community have an equal opportunity to realize their potential. That means that the leader should not do everything; a good leader inspires and encourages people to find their secret talents and make the community better. A good leader should make people feel that they are all involved in the process, and make people feel appreciated. Listening to people, making everyone involved in the process, and catalyzing the finding of people’s potential make a person a perfect leader. But why leadership is important? Good leaders provide guidance, inspiration, and motivation. Thanks to effective leaders more goals of the society or of an organization can be accomplished. Leaders establish a vision, provide a plan of action, and build strong relationships with their followers. While society or an organization may have people with various talents and capabilities, it is leadership that harnesses individual efforts toward the collective goal. Through leadership changes occur, problems are resolved, or just a positive environment is set. People have a natural need to follow a leader. Because a leader provides guidance and helps you minimize potential threats that can affect productivity people want to follow somebody. A leader doesn't have to be a CEO, many members of society or workers or organizations through effective mentorship and delegation of duties can lead to corporate success. Each leader is a servant. As a Christian, I believe that Jesus, as a leader, lived his life engaging people and served them in such a way that their lives changed. Being a servant is to help members of the community or a company and work for the common goal. Every person can be a leader. This year, with the help of awesome volunteer coordinators at St. Peter’s Hospital, one senior student, and a teacher from Loudonville Christian School we made the sweatpants drive. Because a lot of poor or homeless people come to the hospital with little clothing, it is our job, as a Christian community, to help people who are in need. The clothing drive went on till the end of March and I think that it was efficient: students were interested to participate, while also getting some bonuses such as a free dress-down day (we have a dress code in my school). So, as a leader, I want to show people how helpful it is to serve the community and that through community help people may find their talents that may be important for them in the future after finishing high school.

I appreciate many aspects of Math. First, as a person who likes to challenge my brain intellectually, the harder the equation or a problem gets, the more interesting it becomes for me. As a professor and a psychologist, Csikszentmihalyi, the writer of a book "Flow: psychology of optimal experience", said, the harder the activity is, the more we get involved and more pleasure we can extract from the activity. Indeed, solving a hard and challenging equation consumes me and nothing can distract me. When my brain is engaged with numbers I focus much better than in English class. Thus, Math is the kind of meditation for me, where I can stay focused and dive headlong into the work that I do. The other factor that I appreciate in math is that even if I am an immigrant, whose English is not as perfect, you do not need to know English to solve the equations or problems. Even if there are different numbers, such as Arabic, Roman, or Chinese, the concept behind math is always the same. Math is the science that does not depend on politics, culture or beliefs: math always has true, accurate, and correct answers and is universal. Altogether Math is much more complex and valuable than just the numbers, logarithms, trigonometry, or the Goldbach conjecture: it is force that unites many passionate people from different parts of the world.

As an immigrant from the small ex-USSR country- Belarus, I can assure you that children were never supposed to dream big. Parents always attempt to influence their children's future life goals: the sovereignty of parents in Belarus is unquestioned. Parents wish their children to have an office job, be a lawyer, a doctor, or a nurse. Luckily, I decided to achieve CRNA not to appease my parent. I always loved medicine, chemistry and biology, so the choice of my future career was not as hard for me. Despite my interest in medicine, as a Christian, I was always fervent in helping people. Through social service, I realized how happy I become when I help others. Seeing the smile of the person I have helped always enhances my day. When I started my social service journey this March- I volunteered at St. Peter's Hospital- I understood what my dream is. It is so simple- to help more people. As a high school senior, I decided to become a Nurse Anesthetist pretty recently however I always loved medicine. As a child, I was hypnotized by the copious numbers of anatomy and biology books. Epidemiology and genetics were my favorite topics in science. Since that time I knew that I should tie my life with medicine. In my homeland, I wanted to become a doctor because, as was mentioned, it is extremely prestigious there. But when I moved to the US I learned that nurses are as well qualified as our Belarusian doctors. I became interested in nursing: I had conversations with different nurses. One of these conversations that I had was with my family friend, who is CRNA. I have learned that nurse anesthetists have a variety of workplace settings to choose from, such as dental offices or plastic surgery centers and numerous career options. After that discussion, I understood that being a nurse anesthetist is what would be my dream job. But a variety of workplaces and career options are not the only aspects that made me choose CRNA. I have also learned that CRNAs partner with several organizations to provide free services to patients in need. Some of the mission trips are Kenya Relief, Refuge International, and Health Volunteer Overseas. As a Christian, I enjoy helping people, so these mission trip opportunities are what I seek in my future career. For me volunteering and helping God's creation is an awesome way to glorify God. Altogether, by becoming a CRNA I will help more people thus glorifying God.

Many neophytes, teenagers often do not understand their strengths and potential: they wait for opportunities or the achievement of a degree to make their dreams come true. I believe that no matter the obstacles, we should do our best to get closer and closer to achieving our dreams. So as a 17-year-old girl, I decided that I can not wait till I achieve CRNA to help people. This year I decided to donate whole blood to people who need blood transfusions. On the website of the Red Cross, I learned that there are shortages of available blood for patients so I decided that I should do my best to help. Even though I do not need a degree to volunteer, donate blood, or provide other help to people, education can help to open bigger opportunities. My dream job can help me to start donating money to people whose countries are involved in wars, such as Ukraine- a country that is the neighboring country of my homeland, refugees, or other people who need financial support. In my country we have a proverb- "Live a century, learn a century", meaning that for your whole life, you need to enhance your knowledge and study. I was always a curious person who loved learning something new or advancing my knowledge on the topics I have already explored. So my other dream is to continue studying. Studying in college would be conducive and would ameliorate my critical thinking processes. Altogether, my further education may help me in making three of my dreams come true- to study and gain more knowledge, to get a dream job, and to start helping people who are in privation financially.
