TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) MOA Scholarship
My name is Kristine Obiogbolu, and I am a third-year Social Work major on a track to law school at the University of Kentucky. I am passionate about the legal field as I have the desire to be a great judge one day who is unshakable, fair, and kind in a cutthroat field.
I met TXT in November 2022. I had heard “0x1 Love Song” before, but I still hadn't gotten into them until I heard “Run Away” in a YouTube short. I was in a rough place after graduation, as I planned to attend college in America but could not secure adequate funding or a visa. The lyrics touched me in ways I never expected, and for the first time in almost three months, I cried and smiled at the same time.
To me, being an MOA has always meant being kind. Tomorrow by Together is the dream of five boys who want to create a better tomorrow, together; this is possible with the help of Moments of Alwaysness. In Korea, MOA means to gather. As MOAs, we should come together and be kind to one another to help Tubatu's dreams come true. In Taehyun's words, “Tomorrow by Together makes sense and is completed by MOA”.
My bias when I first got into TXT was Yeonjun. He first stood out to me with his dancing and blue hair. But the more I got into TODO, Vlives (Weverse lives), interviews, and TXT logs, I fell for his gentle, healing soul, his passion for his art, his kind words, and his love for his younger brothers that he calls “beagles”. Ultimately, the more I learned, the more I found something to love in all of them, as I could see parts of me in them. I fell for Soobin’s unfiltered, protective, and comforting presence; he reminds me of my own protective nature. I fell for Beomgyu’s energetic, intuitive, and thoughtful nature; his role as a mood maker feels close to me. I fell for Taehyun’s devotion and love for TXT and MOA, his intelligence and playful personality; I could see the love I have for my family and friends in him. I fell for Hueningkai’s kindness that I try to encompass, his youthful and innocent love for cute things, like plushies, and his shy but unapologetic nature; he brings out the kidult (kid + adult) in me.
I am a huge lover of music, and TXT and Seventeen are the only two groups I can confidently say I am a complete fan of every song and performance. Yeonjun and Seungcheol would tie as my ultimate biases.
It is hard to pick a favorite song, but “Miracle” is one that speaks to me a lot: the lyrics “miracle called tomorrow; miracle of being together” remind me to be grateful for tomorrow instead of fearing it, because that is a miracle in its own and that it’s okay even if things go wrong, as long as we are together. I would argue this is a song that represents what it means to be a MOA.
I had the chance to see them in Texas in 2024, and I hope to see them again after I graduate.
I loved The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape because of its significance to the coming-of-age story that TXT tries to tell.
I am an international student, so scholarships are a bit hard to come by. I have a scholarship from the school, but it does not cover everything, and while my parents and I try to cover everything, my younger brother also plans to study abroad. I have two jobs, but they still do not cover the remaining balance. This assistance would help lessen the cost a bit.
I believe I have found a lot of joy and learned kindness through TXT. Unknowingly, I have started to become kinder not just to others, but to myself too. Like Soobin once said, “I am able to give so much love because of how well loved I am.” I want to be the same. I want to love and pour so much into the people around me, protecting and supporting them to the best of my abilities.
