Bio

When people reflect on their life goals, I feel they tend to idealize being rich. Personally, I want to find myself and explore what makes me a better human. I want to be content with my life. I'm still searching what's best for me and I think going to school will help me discover my passions. I'm not going to say that I want to change the world, don't get me wrong I do, but I want to help create the steps to making the world better a place for future generations. I am considering a career in engineering.

      Black Students in STEM Scholarship
In elementary school math never clicked but I really liked science. At some point in middle school that changed, math had become a lot easier and I started to enjoy it. As a female, I know that STEM is a predominately male dominated field and knowing that makes me want to work harder to achieve my goals in this field. My short term goal, as of right now, is to study and learn as much as I possibly can. Computer science is my main interest. I think that computer software can be really beneficial in the technology advancing world. I find coding and programming to be interesting and I crave more knowledge about that. I think knowing how software works and finding the backdoor for problems and correcting those problems is a really cool concept. It's like a puzzle or little mystery with problem solving and finding what works and what doesn't. Additionally, diversifying the field would be a really amazing accomplishment. Introducing more black people and women into the field could help bring in different minded people with new creative ideas. I think bringing in more diversity could really change how we tackle problems and bring in other ideas that no one has ever thought off. Ultimately, the STEM field will help bring us to the future. With creative beings and the will to work hard and learn more, it could truly benefit us now but, also, future generations. We can learn to utilize technology to our advantage and propel us to things we could only imagine. STEM is important because it can improve lives by making tasks easier and cheaper to accomplish. An important issue that could be helped by STEM education is climate change. It is a very real issue and every year we are seeing more and more concerning events. With STEM research we could combat climate change and create cleaner alternatives to produce energy. Having like minded people go into STEM would be amazing and I like to think that with me pursuing this career I could potentially ignite some spark in women and in the black community. I am passionate for studying STEM because of curiosity. I want to study and learn more. I want to inspire others to pursue this career. I want to make a change in the world. I want to be useful in creating a change for something like climate change. With computer science I can help develop better power grids to slow the effects of climate change. I want to make the world a better place. Not everything in the world is in my control but pursuing STEM and learning as much as I can impact someone or something to some degree.
