Catrina Celestine Aquilino Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will have a great impact on my educational goal if awarded to me.
I know that the purpose of the generous donors who fund these scholarships want to help students like me have expectations. Certainly one of them is to see the recipients of the scholarships progress and excel in their education.
Receiving a scholarship will be a great source of encouragement and motivation to focus on my studies with peace of mind in some regards, not worrying about how to get the materials for my classes. For example, this Semester I am only taking one class paid by myself and the Textbook also paid by myself. I did it because I know it is my primary responsibility to invest in my education and in my future. The same way I will not like to fail and waste my money paying for the tuition, it is the same way I will conduct myself when I receive financial support from a generous donor. This determination to make each dollar count will surely be seen in my academic progress. So there will be a positive impact on my educational goal.
I am pursuing a BAS in Legal Studies. More financial resources I have, more classes and more materials I can easily afford. This will shorten my time to complete my degree, opening a way for me to quickly enter a Master's Program.
All the classes I will be able to take due to the scholarships will be sources of gain in knowledge, skills and experiences I need to be a successful student and professional in my community.
One of the reasons for me to always have a G.P.A. over 3.00 is the possibility to have performance-based scholarships. Now it is 3.76. There is no doubt about the impact that this
the scholarship will have on my educational goal.
I created the Togolese Students Community-Florida. My goal is to fund a scholarship for Togolese Students and to encourage Education in my community. I am raising a Fund for the Scholarship. In the meantime, I created an Award for Excellence in Education So far I have been given eight awards (Plaques), paid for by me. I also encouraged the Togolese Community of Tampa to initiate a Scholarship and we are working towards that. I inspired the creation of the Togolese Students Community -Ohio. My goal is to inspire this initiative in my community in every State in the USA.

Healing Self and Community Scholarship
To contribute towards this goal, I plan to propose meaningful suggestions to competent authorities and stakeholders in the field of mental health care. By collaborating with these organizations, we can collectively work towards making mental health care more accessible and affordable.
My first suggestion involves advocating for increased funding for mental health services. I will urge competent authorities to allocate more resources towards mental health care initiatives, ensuring that affordable services are readily available to those in need. This would require strategic planning and allocation of funds to establish low-cost or free mental health clinics, hire more mental health professionals, and expand community-based programs.
In addition, I will recommend the integration of mental health education into school curricula and workplace wellness programs. By promoting mental health literacy, we can reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and foster a supportive environment that encourages individuals to seek help. This can be achieved through educational campaigns, workshops, and training sessions for teachers, employers, and employees.
Furthermore, I will suggest the implementation of teletherapy and telepsychiatry services. These remote mental health services can provide convenient and cost-effective options for individuals who may face transportation or geographical barriers.
Lastly, I will propose the expansion of insurance coverage for mental health services. By collaborating with insurance providers and policymakers, I will advocate for comprehensive coverage that includes mental health care on par with physical health care. This would ensure that individuals have affordable access to therapy sessions, psychiatric consultations, and necessary medications.
Harvey and Geneva Mabry Second Time Around Scholarship
My journey has been one of resilience, determination, and unwavering passion for education. Growing up in a country where education is highly selective and often favors the privileged,
I experienced firsthand the unjust barriers that can hinder one's progress. In 2004, I became a victim of this system when I was excluded from the Legal Program despite my capabilities. This setback could have crushed my spirit, but instead, it ignited a fire within me to prove my worth and pursue my dreams.
Refusing to let circumstances define me, I made a courageous decision—to study law no matter what. However, the only option available to me was to relocate to a neighboring country in West Africa, far from my family and familiar surroundings. Alone in a foreign land, I enrolled at the University of Law and Political Sciences in Benin. With sheer determination and unwavering commitment, I earned my Associate's in Legal Studies with Honor, emerging as the 3rd best student in my cohort.
In 2007, an opportunity presented itself when I won a Diversity Visa and moved to the United States of America. Eager to continue my educational journey, I obtained another AS Degree in Legal Studies. However, life threw another curveball my way as I started a family in 2013. Balancing work and parental responsibilities, I faced the challenge of physically attending college. Moreover, the lack of online classes in my chosen field at St Pete College limited my options.
Undeterred by these obstacles, I refused to give up on my dreams. In 2018, I registered for a Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies at Florida Gulf Coast University, which offered online classes. Financial constraints momentarily forced me to pause my studies, but I was determined to find a way forward. It was during this time that I founded a non-profit organization, the Togolese Students Community-Florida, to encourage educational excellence and provide scholarships for students in my community.
Despite setbacks, I remained steadfast in my pursuit of education.
Inspired by my efforts, the Togolese Students Community-Ohio was created. I initiated an Award for Excellence in Education and have already presented eight plaques, funding them myself. Additionally, I worked with the Togolese Community of Tampa to establish a scholarship program. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2019, the opportunity to pursue online courses and Zoom-live classes at St Pete College finally materialized. I registered once again, determined to complete my BAS in Legal Studies. Currently, I have completed 90% of the required courses and anticipate graduating in Spring 2024.
My decision to return to school came from an unyielding passion for the legal field, which has been ingrained in me since childhood. I refuse to let circumstances define my future or limit my potential. Despite facing numerous challenges and sacrifices, I have persevered, guided by courage, determination, faith, and a deep love for learning. Returning to school is not only a personal endeavor but also a testament to my commitment to making a difference.
I aspire to attend law school after my graduation, where I can utilize my knowledge and experiences to advocate for justice and empower others. My journey has taught me that no matter the setbacks or obstacles one faces, with resilience and an unwavering dedication to education, it is possible to achieve greatness.
In conclusion, my life experiences, challenges, and unwavering passion for education have led me to the decision to return to school. I am determined to continue my pursuit of knowledge, strengthen my foundation in the legal field, and work towards making a positive impact in society.
DRIVE an IMPACT Today Scholarship
Education in my country is very selective and most of the time the people of fortunate families are the ones who are privileged and are allowed to progress in some fields of education. Law School is for them. It is not always the best who are rewarded for their efforts and intelligence, but the children of government officials whether brilliant or not.
In 2004 I was one of the victims of that system and found myself excluded from the Legal Program. I knew what I was capable of and even some of my professors were surprised by my situation.
Now what to do? I told myself I would study Law no matter what. But the only option for me was to move to a neighboring country in West Africa to continue my Education. Alone and far away in a foreign land to study. I put aside all fear of the unknown and went to the University of Law and Political Sciences in Benin, where I got my Associate's in Legal Studies with Honors. I was the 3rd best student of my promotion.
My goal was to prove to my family and friends that I was capable of succeeding in Law School. I was so proud of myself. From a negative experience, I came out successful because I decided to make myself uncomfortable in a foreign land just for my commitment to succeed at all costs.
I won a Diversity Visa and came to the United States of America in 2007, where I got my other AS Degree in Legal Studies and now pursuing a BAS in Legal Studies.
I created the Togolese Students Community-Florida. My goal is to fund a scholarship for Togolese Students and to encourage Education in my community. I am raising a Fund for the Scholarship. In the meantime, I created an Award for Excellence in Education So far I gave over 10 awards (Plaques), paid for by me. I believed that the DRIVE qualities have helped me to overcome the academic obstacle I face in my life. I demonstrated Determination, Respect, Innovation, Versatility, Equality, and Nurture. I hope this will inspire many.
Henry Bynum, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Education holds the power to transform lives and shape futures. In my home country, I faced a selective educational system that favored privilege over merit, hindering the progress of deserving students. However, my personal journey has been one of determination, resilience, and a commitment to making a positive impact on education.
In 2004, I found myself excluded from the Legal Program due to a system that prioritized the children of government officials, regardless of merit. Undeterred, I made a bold decision to pursue my dreams and study law. I enrolled in the University of Law and Political Sciences in Benin, a neighboring country. It was a challenging journey, being alone and far away from home, but I remained steadfast in my commitment to succeed. I excelled academically, graduating with honors and ranking third in my class. This personal triumph solidified my belief in the power of determination and commitment.
In 2007, an opportunity presented itself when I won a Diversity Visa and moved to the United States. I embraced this chance to further my education, obtaining an Associate's Degree in Legal Studies. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Legal Studies, continuously expanding my knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to the field.
Motivated by my own experiences, I established the Togolese Students Community-Florida. This community serves as a platform to empower and support Togolese students pursuing higher education. Recognizing the financial barriers faced by many students, I took the initiative to establish a scholarship fund. To date, I have personally funded and awarded plaques to eight outstanding students, celebrating their academic excellence. Additionally, I have been instrumental in encouraging the Togolese Community of Tampa to establish their own scholarship program, fostering a culture of educational support within our community.
My ultimate goal is to inspire and create Togolese Students Communities in every state across the United States. Through these communities, we can establish scholarships, mentorship programs, and support networks that uplift and empower Togolese students to pursue their academic dreams. I believe that education is the key to unlocking opportunities and breaking the cycle of limited access. By creating a culture of educational excellence and support, we can empower individuals to reach their full potential and contribute to the development of our community.
My journey of overcoming adversity and pursuing education has fueled my commitment to make a positive impact on education. Through the Togolese Students Community-Florida and scholarship initiatives, I aim to empower students and create opportunities for those who may face similar challenges. By inspiring and supporting educational excellence, we can uplift our community and pave the way for a brighter future for Togolese students.

Disney Super Fan Scholarship
Disney holds an incredibly special place in my heart. It has been a constant source of joy, wonder, and inspiration throughout my life. From the enchanting movies that have captured my imagination to the magical theme parks that have brought my dreams to life, Disney has left an indelible mark on my soul.
One of the things I cherish most about Disney is its remarkable ability to transport me into a world of pure imagination. Whenever I watch a Disney film or step into one of their themed lands, I am immediately whisked away to a place where anything is possible. Whether I'm exploring the vibrant landscapes of "The Lion King" or embarking on a swashbuckling adventure with "Pirates of the Caribbean," Disney has an incredible power to create a sense of escapism. It allows me to momentarily leave behind the worries and stresses of everyday life and embrace a realm filled with unadulterated magic.
Beyond the enchantment, Disney's exceptional storytelling is something that I truly adore. Disney movies are filled with timeless tales that resonate with people of all ages. They go beyond mere entertainment; they impart valuable life lessons about love, friendship, courage, and the pursuit of dreams. The characters become like friends, and their journeys inspire me to believe in myself, to be true to who I am, and to never give up, no matter the challenges that lie ahead.
And then, of course, there are the extraordinary theme parks. Stepping foot into Disneyland or Disney World feels like entering a whole new universe. The attention to detail is astounding, and the immersive experiences are unparalleled. Every visit to a Disney park is a sensory delight, from the sight of iconic castles and beloved characters to the sounds of laughter and joy that fill the air. Meeting beloved characters in person, experiencing thrilling attractions, and immersing myself in the atmosphere of these magical places bring me an incomparable sense of excitement and pure happiness.
Overall, Disney means the world to me because it reminds me to embrace my inner child, to hold on to the power of dreams, and to find happiness in the magic of storytelling. It represents a sanctuary where my imagination can run free, and where I can experience moments of pure joy and wonder. Disney has shaped my perspective, taught me valuable life lessons, and ignited a spark of creativity within me. It is a place where imagination knows no bounds, where dreams come true, and where the enchantment of childhood lives on. For all these reasons and more, Disney will forever hold a cherished place in my heart.

Receiving this scholarship would have a significant impact on my educational goals. I am aware that the generous donors who fund these scholarships have a vested interest in helping students like myself achieve their aspirations, and I am eager to prove them right.
The scholarship would provide me with a great source of encouragement and motivation, allowing me to focus on my studies without worrying about the financial burden of purchasing course materials. I am aware that investing in my education and my future is my primary responsibility, and I strive to make every dollar count.
I am currently pursuing a BAS in Legal Studies. With more financial resources, I will be able to afford additional classes and materials, which will expedite my degree completion and enable me to enter a Master's program expeditiously. The knowledge, skills, and experiences I will gain from these courses will be invaluable, making me a successful student and a contributing professional in my community.
I maintain a GPA of 3.75, and one of the reasons why I strive to keep it above 3.00 is to be eligible for performance-based scholarships. I have no doubt that receiving this scholarship would have a positive impact on my educational goals, allowing me to continue my academic journey with greater ease and motivation.

Bold Wise Words Scholarship
What is the wisest thing I have ever heard?
It came back to my mind as I read the question. It is the wisest thing for me because of the particular impact it had on me. I came across it as a scholarship topic in 2008. Here it is, “There is always a way out.”
It was a scholarship topic, but for me, it was more than that. It was a word of wisdom that was given to me at a point in my life when I was confused and uncertain about my future in the United States of America. All possible ways seemed locked.
Should I stop pursuing my Associate Degree in Legal Studies and get a second job to meet my immediate and vital needs? On top of this, I daily struggled to adapt and to adjust to a new culture because I came from Togo (West Africa) a year earlier.
I was at this crossroads with a challenging decision to make under the pressure of life when I got “There is always a way out” as a scholarship topic. Yes, there is a way out for me. I will do my best with what I have until I get a better-paying job. It is out of the question to quit college. These were the thoughts that flooded my mind when I read the topic.
I graduated with honor and got a good-paying job in a Law firm. I have encouraged many with the same saying, and I am glad to see that they made it.
I think it was the same thing, Nelson Mandela, a South African political figure said in this way, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
To the readers of this essay, I boldly say, “There is always a way out.”
Ginny Biada Memorial Scholarship
My mother has deeply and powerfully affected my life and has shaped me into who I am today.
I am originally from Togo, West Africa. I am part of a family of 7 children. A big challenge for a mom!
But my mother devoted her attention to each of us and took care of us without complaint.
She is a woman with a big heart, and she always helps people. She will go the extra mile and do things for people who sometimes are ungrateful. But she always told us that a good deed is never wasted.
Her resilience and peace in trial times have taught me a lot. She showed me how to turn life challenges into opportunities to learn and to strive. Her life taught me that in life we either learn or succeed. Failure is not part of her vocabulary, I will say. She never saw failure as a dead end. For her, it is a new starting point with the experience acquired.
Today, I am always helping people. I see life differently. My mom's way of life has enabled me to be able to live far away from my family without straying away from the lessons she engraved in my heart.
I studied in another city of Togo (Vogan) by myself. I was in Benin (a neighboring country) for two years to study. In 2007, I landed in the USA without her, but her impact on my life helped to lay the foundation for myself in this Country.
She visited me in 2015, and the Lord opened her heart to received Him as Lord and Savior. She is growing in her faith. She always prays for me. I love her. Her name is Talley.
