My life goal is to become a CRNA and I am most passionate about helping people and creating a difference in communities where healthcare isn't as accessible. I am a great candidate because I work really hard, for example, I worked almost every single day of summer while having an internship as well. I am independent and pay for all of my own things including tuition and school expenses.

Buddhism has always meant more to me than just a set of beliefs. It serves as a foundation for how I live and interact with the world. Its teachings have guided me through challenges, shaped my relationships, and influenced my view of my role in the community. The values of compassion, mindfulness, and service to others have given me a strong sense of purpose. Instead of seeing obstacles as setbacks, I try to approach them with patience and understanding, knowing that growth often comes from struggle. These lessons continue to guide me as I set my goals for the future.
From a young age, I have felt drawn to helping others. Whether I was supporting friends, caring for family, or volunteering, I found fulfillment in easing someone’s burden or providing comfort. Through Buddhism, I learned that service is not just an act of kindness; it is also a responsibility. This realization is one of the main reasons I want to pursue a career in nursing. Nursing involves more than just medical care; it includes listening with empathy, showing compassion in difficult moments, and treating each patient with respect and dignity. These values fit perfectly with the Buddhist teachings that have been central in my life.
As a future nurse, I want to be the kind of healthcare professional who addresses not only physical needs but also understands the emotional and mental struggles that patients face. A calm presence, a kind word, or simply listening to a patient can make a huge difference. To me, that is what nursing is truly about: healing both the body and the heart.
After graduation, I plan to give back to my community in several ways. I hope to volunteer at local health clinics to support families who may not have access to regular medical care. I also want to mentor young people interested in healthcare, helping them navigate the path into nursing and reminding them of the importance of compassion in medicine. Additionally, I plan to participate in programs that promote mindfulness and mental health, as I believe emotional well-being is just as important as physical health.
Buddhism has provided me with peace, focus, and direction in my life, and I hope to share that with others. As a future nurse, I aim to combine my professional skills with the values of kindness, mindfulness, and service. My goal is to create a positive impact not only on the health of my patients but also on the overall well-being of my community.

From an early age, I have always known that I wanted to be in the medical field because I was drawn to the balance of science, service, and human connection found in medicine. My goal to pursue a career as an anesthesiologist stems from a deep fascination with physiology, pharmacology. Their ability to ease pain, provide comfort, and maintain critical stability in high-pressure environments inspire me. My interest in anesthesiology began when my mom underwent surgery and I saw firsthand the critical role the anesthesiologist played, not only in the procedure, but in providing comfort to both my mom and family. My short-term goal is to attend and excel in medical school, build a strong foundation in the sciences, and gain clinical experience that will help prepare me for a competitive anesthesiology residency. My long-term goal is to become a board-certified anesthesiologist who not only provides excellent care in the operating room but also mentors future medical students and contributes to health equity initiatives in underserved communities. As an underrepresented minority in medicine, I understand the importance of visibility, advocacy, and mentorship. Representation matters, not just for the next generation of healthcare providers, but for the countless patients who feel more seen and understood by physicians who come from similar backgrounds. My identity motivates me to help diversify the field of anesthesiology, which still lacks sufficient racial and ethnic representation. In the future, I hope to work in hospitals that serve medically underserved populations, where language and cultural barriers often contribute to unequal outcomes. I want to be a physician who bridges those gap. Financially, this scholarship would significantly ease the burden of tuition, books, and application fees. Like many first-generation students, I am navigating this journey without the financial safety net many of my peers have. I work a part-time job on top of attending school, and I pay my own tuition. Receiving this scholarship would allow me to focus more fully on my education and less on financial strain from school. I have been taking a course to become a medical assistant, so that I can gain experience in the medical field whenever I finish my training. By becoming a medical assistant, I will better understand pharmacological principles and patient care. Balancing my coursework, part-time job, and medical assistant training has challenged me to develop strong time-management skills and perseverance. These strong qualities will serve me well in the demanding environment of medical school and clinical training.
