My relationship with Jesus has shaped my faith and the direction of my life. Growing up, faith was not a part of my childhood. I did not attend church, and I had little understanding of who God was or what believing in Him meant. For much of my early life, my faith was essentially nonexistent. That changed when my stepmother came into my life; an answer to prayers I didn’t yet know how to pray. Meeting my stepmother was a turning point. God blessed me with her at a time when I needed guidance, stability, and love. I was never very close with my biological mother, and my stepmother filled that gap with patience and care. Through her example, I was introduced to church and to a relationship with Christ. We began attending church regularly, and for the first time, I felt a sense of belonging, not only within my family, but within a faith community as well. As I became more involved in church, my belief in Jesus grew from something unfamiliar into something foundational. Faith gave me purpose and direction. It taught me that I am never alone and that God’s plan for me is greater than my doubts or circumstances. Through prayer and community, I learned to trust God during challenges and to recognize blessings even in difficult moments. My relationship with Jesus helped shape my values, teaching me compassion, humility, perseverance, and gratitude. This faith has already carried me far in life, and it continues to guide the way I approach my education. As I begin my college journey, I plan to implement my faith by committing to integrity, discipline, and service. I believe education is not just about personal achievement, but about using knowledge to serve others and glorify God. I intend to approach my studies with dedication, knowing that my efforts are a reflection of the gifts God has given me. Additionally, I hope to remain connected to a faith-based community throughout college, whether through a campus ministry, church involvement, or service opportunities. Surrounding myself with people who share similar values will help keep me grounded and accountable. My faith encourages me to uplift others, to lead with kindness, and to persevere when academic or personal challenges arise. In the future, I hope to use my education to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. My relationship with Jesus has shown me that growth often comes through trust and obedience, even when the path ahead feels uncertain. With faith as my foundation, I am confident that I can face the challenges of higher education with strength, purpose, and hope.

Playing sports has helped me overcome many challenges throughout my life. Soccer, in particular, has shaped who I am today. Although I started playing later than most and have played for only 12 years, I am grateful for that timing because it allowed me to grow a genuine passion for the sport without burnout. I originally joined soccer as a way to release my energy as a child, but I soon realized I had both ability and a growing love for the game. Through soccer, I have built lasting friendships and meaningful relationships with teammates and coaches, all of whom have played an important role in my personal growth. My dedication to soccer was truly tested when I fully tore my ACL and meniscus, an injury that kept me out of the sport for 9 to 12 months. Despite the physical and mental challenges of recovery, I remained committed and eventually returned to playing. This experience taught me resilience, discipline, and perseverance. Soccer has become more than a sport to me—it is an outlet that allows me to escape everyday challenges, stay focused, and give my full effort no matter the circumstances. Academically, my goals are to succeed in college by maintaining strong grades, staying organized, making responsible decisions, and building positive relationships with professors and peers. I plan to pursue a degree in nursing and earn my Registered Nurse (RN) license. I chose this path because I have a strong desire to help and care for others. While I initially considered becoming a physical trainer, my experiences in a nursing class showed me how meaningful and impactful hands-on patient care can be. I enjoy forming connections with patients and supporting them during difficult moments in their lives. Additionally, having nurses and doctors in my family has influenced my career choice. Observing their dedication and compassion has inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare and strive to make a difference in the lives of others. Their example motivates me to not only succeed academically but also to serve with empathy and integrity. In the future, I plan to give back to my community by working as a nurse and providing care to those in need, especially individuals who are homeless or underserved. Coming from a family that has taken in young children, I have seen firsthand the importance of support and care. I hope to help families and children who are sick or unable to access proper treatment. Through nursing, I aim to combine my passion for service with my commitment to making a positive impact on my community.
