Hi, my name is Kinsey Bryant! Music is one of my greatest passions—I’ve played piano since I was 6, won many awards, and I also play all percussion instruments in my school’s marching band. I’m involved in FCCLA, Beta, Spanish Club, NSHSS, and NHS, and I also love photography, especially capturing nature and animals. Academics are important to me too, and I’ve earned medals in UIL competitions.
Outside of school, I have a cat named Posy, I’m very active in my church praise team, and I enjoy helping with children’s classes. My hobbies include listening to music (from Taylor Swift to Coldplay and many others), baking, doodling, movies, and spending time with family. My favorite foods are sushi, fries, burgers, chicken wings, spaghetti, and I love mocha iced coffee, lemonade, and chocolate milk.
In the future, I plan to become a Speech/Language Pathologist, especially to help children with speech disorders. Helping others and making music inspire me every day, and I feel blessed to live a life filled with people and activities I love.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the night sky. I remember lying on the grass in my backyard, staring at the stars and wondering what was out there—what secrets the universe might be hiding. That curiosity has grown into a “pie in the sky” dream that feels both exciting and almost impossible: I want to become an astronomer. The idea of dedicating my life to exploring planets, stars, galaxies, and the mysteries of space feels inspiring, but I also know it will take years of hard work, learning, and persistence to get there.
What sparked this dream was a combination of curiosity and awe. I’ve always loved science, but it wasn’t until I learned about black holes, exoplanets, and the vastness of the universe that I realized I wanted to be part of the people trying to answer the biggest questions out there. Watching images from telescopes and learning about discoveries made by astronomers made me feel both small and limitless at the same time. It made me want to contribute to something bigger than myself. I imagine myself analyzing data from telescopes, maybe discovering a new celestial body, or helping people understand the universe in ways they’ve never thought about. The thought of turning curiosity into real, meaningful discoveries is what keeps this dream alive.
I know the path to becoming an astronomer won’t be easy. I’ll need to dedicate myself to education, especially in physics, math, and computer science, because these are the tools astronomers use every day. I’ll also need to gain experience through internships, research opportunities, and probably graduate school to specialize in a field I love. Networking with mentors, asking questions, and being willing to fail and try again will also be important. Beyond academics, I think perseverance, creativity, and staying curious will be just as important as the knowledge I gain in the classroom. The universe is unpredictable, and discoveries often come when you least expect them, so learning to stay patient and adaptable is part of the journey.
Even though it feels far away, my dream keeps me motivated every day. It reminds me to study hard, ask questions, and never stop looking up. Becoming an astronomer is more than a career goal—it’s a way for me to connect with the universe and with people who are inspired by it too. I know I’ll face challenges, but the idea of contributing to something as incredible as our understanding of space makes every challenge worth it. That’s the courage and commitment that will carry me forward, one step at a time, until maybe one day, I’m not just looking at the stars, but helping the world see them in a whole new way.

Hi, my name is Kinsey Bryant! I have played the piano since I was 6 years old; it is one of my greatest loves and achievements! I have won many medals, trophies, and ribbons while competing in piano. I play all percussion instruments, read music, listen to music, and I love all things music; it makes up a big part of who I am! It has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. It completes me. I plan to become the music director at my church someday! Music has been a constant for me. My whole life has revolved around my music life. I had lessons every week, practiced every day, competed every year, participated in recitals every year, and a lot of my "success" was in how well I did with it all. Even through all the stress, my deep love for music never wavered. It continues to be such a big part of my life. I don't know what I would do if my parents had never put me in piano lessons all that time ago. I met so many people, as well as did so many things in the music world! I not only play the piano, but I also play many other instruments, and I continue to learn more every day. Percussion is one of my favorite things! Give me a drum set, a xylophone, etc., and I will be busy and happy for hours on end! It truly brings me so, so much joy! When I play and listen to music, it's like I become one with it. It is a part of my soul. My family also loves music and participates in it. Maybe not as much as me, but there is no doubt that I got the passion from somewhere! Thanks to my ancestors' passion for the art, I now get to live every day and enjoy music the way it's meant to be enjoyed! With every part of me! It is my safe place. My happy place. My home. I owe so much to music and the ones who taught me and pushed me to be my best at it! It is something I hope never fades out of my life, and remains a staple in the way that I, as well as the future generations after me, live. Music isn't just a sound that you hear here and there; it is a lifestyle, a mood, a love, a passion. Music is everything to me, and I truly believe everyone should appreciate it this much!
