My name is Kimyatta Jackson, and I am a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for helping others during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. For the past seven years, I have worked as a Nursing Assistant in a hospital setting, where I have had the opportunity to provide compassionate care to patients while supporting nurses and other healthcare professionals. These experiences have shaped my career goals and inspired me to pursue advanced education in both nursing and radiology. Currently, I am enrolled at Northern Career Institute, where I am working toward becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), with an anticipated graduation date of January 8, 2027. In addition, I am pursuing studies in Radiology because I am fascinated by the critical role medical imaging plays in diagnosing and treating patients. My goal is to combine my hands-on patient care experience with advanced clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills to make a greater impact in healthcare. One experience that significantly influenced my decision to pursue nursing occurred while caring for a patient who was anxious and frightened about their medical condition. As a Nursing Assistant, I spent time listening to their concerns, providing reassurance, and ensuring they felt safe and supported. Although I was not the nurse responsible for their treatment plan, the patient later expressed gratitude for the comfort and compassion I provided. That moment showed me that healthcare is about more than procedures and medications—it is about connecting with people and helping them through challenging situations. I realized that I wanted to take on a larger role in patient care and become a nurse. My interest in radiology developed through my experiences working in the hospital environment. I observed how imaging studies such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs helped physicians identify illnesses and injuries quickly and accurately.
