Bio

My name is Kimyatta Jackson, and I am a dedicated healthcare professional and student committed to advancing my education and expanding my ability to serve others. I am currently enrolled at Northern Career Institute, where I am pursuing my Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential and expect to graduate on January 8, 2027. I am also enrolled in the Radiology Program at Cuyahoga Community College, with an anticipated graduation year of 2029. For the past seven years, I have worked in healthcare as a Nursing Assistant, gaining valuable experience providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospital setting. I currently work as a Virtual Patient Companion at Cleveland Clinic and as a PRN Patient Care Nursing Assistant at South Pointe Hospital. In these roles, I monitor patient safety, assist with daily care needs, obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, monitor blood glucose levels, and collaborate with healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes. My experiences have reinforced my passion for healthcare and inspired me to continue growing professionally. By pursuing both nursing and radiology education, I am building a strong foundation to provide comprehensive patient care and contribute meaningfully to the healthcare field. Receiving this scholarship would help me continue my educational journey and achieve my goal of making a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their families.

My name is Kimyatta Jackson, and I am a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for helping others during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. For the past seven years, I have worked as a Nursing Assistant in a hospital setting, where I have had the opportunity to provide compassionate care to patients while supporting nurses and other healthcare professionals. These experiences have shaped my career goals and inspired me to pursue advanced education in both nursing and radiology. Currently, I am enrolled at Northern Career Institute, where I am working toward becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), with an anticipated graduation date of January 8, 2027. In addition, I am pursuing studies in Radiology because I am fascinated by the critical role medical imaging plays in diagnosing and treating patients. My goal is to combine my hands-on patient care experience with advanced clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills to make a greater impact in healthcare. One experience that significantly influenced my decision to pursue nursing occurred while caring for a patient who was anxious and frightened about their medical condition. As a Nursing Assistant, I spent time listening to their concerns, providing reassurance, and ensuring they felt safe and supported. Although I was not the nurse responsible for their treatment plan, the patient later expressed gratitude for the comfort and compassion I provided. That moment showed me that healthcare is about more than procedures and medications—it is about connecting with people and helping them through challenging situations. I realized that I wanted to take on a larger role in patient care and become a nurse. My interest in radiology developed through my experiences working in the hospital environment. I observed how imaging studies such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs helped physicians identify illnesses and injuries quickly and accurately. Seeing how these diagnostic tools contributed to patient outcomes sparked my curiosity and motivated me to learn more about the field. Radiology combines science, technology, and patient care, making it an exciting and rewarding career path. What motivates me most is the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. Whether I am helping a patient feel comfortable, supporting families during stressful times, or assisting healthcare teams in providing quality care, I find purpose in serving others. I believe that continuing my education in nursing and radiology will allow me to expand my skills, increase my knowledge, and provide even better care to the patients I serve. As I continue my educational journey, I remain committed to excellence, compassion, and lifelong learning. I am grateful for the experiences that have brought me to this point and look forward to building a career that allows me to positively impact the health and well-being of my community.
