Bio

I am a dedicated student pursuing my Master’s in Athletic Training, building upon my B.S. in Human Performance & Sports Science from Tennessee State University. Driven by a passion for athletic rehabilitation and injury prevention, I have consistently balanced a rigorous academic schedule, earning a spot on the Dean’s List and induction into the Alpha Alpha Honors Society—with intensive hands-on clinical experience.  My professional journey has allowed me to support athletes across diverse levels, from serving as a Student Athletic Trainer for TSU’s basketball and volleyball teams to leading hydration and injury evaluation efforts as a Gatorade Team Lead for Vanderbilt University’s football camps. These roles have sharpened my ability to evaluate injuries and implement effective recovery programs in high-pressure environments. Beyond the sidelines, I am an active leader in my community, serving as the Social Media Chairperson for Tiger Fit and holding a leadership role as Chaplain for the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. I am committed to leveraging my clinical skills and leadership experience to provide high-quality care and support to the next generation of athletes.

For four years, the rhythm of my life was dictated by the sound of a starter pistol and the texture of a synthetic track. Running track throughout high school wasn't just about speed; it was my first introduction to the complex beauty of human movement. However, the transition to college brought a pivotal realization: while my time as a competitive athlete was reaching its finish line, my passion for sports was only just beginning to evolve. I found myself at a crossroads, needing a new path that honored my love for the game while leaning into my deep-seated curiosity about how the body functions. I have always been fascinated by body mechanics, the intricate "how" behind every sprint, jump, and pivot. Initially, I believed this interest would lead me toward physical therapy. Yet, as I explored the field, I realized the clinical setting lacked the immediate, high-stakes energy of live sports that I craved. I wanted to be where the action happened. As a dedicated fan of women’s basketball, I began researching ways to marry my technical interests with the sport I love. This search led me to athletic training, a field that offers the perfect intersection of injury prevention, emergency care, and elite performance. My time at Tennessee State University has been the foundational chapter of this new journey. For the past two years, I have served as a Student Athletic Trainer for the Women’s Basketball and Volleyball teams. This role has been much more than a clinical requirement; it has been an immersion into the grit and grace of collegiate athletics. From attending daily practices to traveling for competitions, I have learned to evaluate injuries in real-time and provide the first aid necessary to keep athletes safe. Assisting these women through rehabilitation programs has allowed me to apply my knowledge of physical demands to help them return to the court stronger than before.  Beyond the training room, my experiences with the Vanderbilt University Clinical Immersion Program and Athletes Unlimited have reinforced my commitment to a career in sports. Whether I am leading Gatorade teams for football camps or managing the fast-paced environment of a pro-sports pro shop, I have developed a reputation as a passionate and punctual professional who excels in teamwork and communication. These roles have taught me that the sports industry is a massive ecosystem where every person, from the athletic trainer to the game-day operations, and volunteer plays a vital part in the "fan-centric" experience.  As I pursue my Master’s in Athletic Training, my ultimate goal extends beyond my own professional success. The "minority pool" for athletic trainers remains strikingly small, and I am acutely aware of the lack of representation in this field. I hope to make a lasting impact by opening the minds of young minority women who aspire to be athletic trainers but feel lost on how to begin. I want to serve as the blueprint I once looked for, proving that we belong on the sidelines, in the locker rooms, and in leadership positions within sports medicine. By combining my technical expertise in injury prevention and rehabilitation with a commitment to mentorship, I aim to show the next generation that their passion for the game can be transformed into a vital, impactful career
