Throughout my life, I have tried to be someone others can rely on. One way I demonstrate helpfulness is through supporting my family and friends. When an idea expressed to me and it comes from my family or friends, I am always supportive and open minded of what the idea is. I try to show that I am actively listening and paying attention to every detail that is mentioned, I also offer thoughtful advice so they are able to make the best decisions for themselves. Most people notice that I give great advice, and that I consistently show skills of motivation, commitment, and dedication. I strive to be someone who is memorable of inspiration. I want people to know that if I can overcome challenges to continue working towards my goals, then they can do the same. I believe that being helpful is not only about being kind, but also about encouraging others, increasing the chances of happiness, strengthen relationships or make new connections and to show that I am not only engaged but involved. I have learned that small moments of encouragement can make a meaningful difference in someone's life. Which leads me into my next point which is one experience that reflects my leadership by me being involved in the Student Lighthouse Team. The Student Lighthouse Team is a high school organization made up of both students and staff who work together to make a positive difference within our school community. I joined to organization in August 2024 after being nominated for my listening skills and my ability to be a good advisor to others. I was recognized as someone who demonstrated qualities such as respect, trustworthiness, support, honesty and someone who can guide others. I had to step outside my comfort zone to join this organization, but it became a n essential opportunity for personal growth. This was my first organization, but it will not be my last. Throughout my time with my team members, I remained supportive and helpful during the journey. I consistently attended meetings, arrived to class on time, and participated in discussions about our projects and goals. I also had the opportunity to speak at the Rotary Club about the work of the Student Lighthouse Team and how we aim to create a positive impact within our school. Through this experience, I learned the importance of both leadership and collaboration to support others. As I pursue college and work towards building my future, I will continue to carry my values with me and use them to accomplish goals and stay focused.
