Bio

My goal is to one day be an astronaut the requirements of which are to have a masters in a STEM field and 1,000 hours PIC (pilot in command) of a jet aircraft. To get there I would like to get a master's in Aerospace engineering and to get my pilot's license. I am athletic and adventurous and love to explore the world, I also love to learn and will research and learn different skills and learn about various topics out of curiosity. I also love to cook and bake.

My dream is to hopefully one day become an astronaut, while it is a stretch I know I can get there if I work hard enough to reach my dream. I have been working hard to learn as much as I can and to financially support my Dream of reaching the stars. According to NASA to be an astronaut you need to have a master's degree in a STEM program, 1,000 hours of Pilot in Command time of a jet aircraft, and to be a U.S. citizen. To reach these requirements I have already started working on getting my Private Pilots license by working on the weekends and paying for one hour of flight lessons at a time, my goal is to have that completed by the spring and continue working my way up to NASA's requirement. I also plan to start working on a master's degree in Aerospace Engineering this spring, in order to do this I plan to get my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at either the University of Idaho or Boise State University, both of which I've been accepted to, then once I get my bachelors I plan to get my masters degree in Aerospace Engineering at either Embery Riddle, MIT or the University of Arizona. Once I have both a pilot license and my master's degree I plan to enter the aerospace industry and gain experience as both a pilot and as an engineer. I need experience in both and that points towards possibly being a test pilot for the military or working for the airlines for a few years to get my flight time and then working for an aerospace company such as Stoke Space, Boeing, or Lockheed martin to gain experience in the field of engineering. before finally becoming an astronaut. Through my dreams of being an astronaut, I have already begun to benefit those around me and plan to continue to do so in the future. I have been volunteering as an intern at local non-profit Spacepoint where I have assisted in helping younger children follow their own dreams and be able to meet and learn from professionals in the space industry. Many astronauts also volunteer their time to help people and teach classes, I plan to follow in their footsteps and use what I learn as an astronaut and the connections I make to help those who come after me follow their dreams of Entering the fields of STEM and aerospace.

My dad is a helicopter pilot and inspired me to love aviation from a young age which eventually grew into me loving space. I'm currently a senior in high school and I have already begun my flight training, I currently have three hours and have another hour of flight training scheduled. My goal is to one day be an astronaut, recently I just went to space camp in Huntsville, Alabama on a scholarship which gave me a great introduction to being an astronaut and other parts of the space industry, it was also a great opportunity for me to learn about leadership. The requirements to be an astronaut are to have a masters in a STEM degree and 1,000 hours of PIC time in a jet aircraft. To do this I am currently working on getting my private pilot license and need scholarships to be able to afford it. I'm interested in getting a pilot license because it would help me further my goals of becoming an aerospace engineer and eventually an astronaut. I also love flying and have thought it would be awesome to be able to fly a plane from a very young age. I am extremely passionate about flying and engineering and have spent hours using various flight simulators, watching videos, and reading books about the engineering of different aircraft and about how to fly different aircraft. I am currently having to work to pay for each hour of my flight training one at a time and this scholarship would make it much easier for me to continue my training and allow me more time to study and less time between each hour of training. I want to get my private pilot license as soon as I can so that I can continue working on IFR and then Commercial to further my goals of one day becoming an astronaut. I feel that I exemplify many leadership qualities such as integrity, resilience, courage, and others. Whenever I am working with a team or a group of people I try my best to lead by example and I make sure everybody is involved and has the right job for what they are best at and what their passionate about. I am very courageous and will always explore or try anything new that comes my way. I am also very resilient, I have fought to continue to do things that I love even if I have been pushed back and shot down time and time again.

I have been involved in my community in several different ways. One of the ways I've been involved in the community is by helping coach my little brother's baseball team for the last two years, where I have helped coach both him and his teammates on pitching. Another big way I've been involved in my community is by being an intern for a local non-profit called Spacepoint whose mission is to help younger generations learn about and and meet members of the space industry. I also work at the local ski resort where I interact with both my local community and skiers and snowboarders who come to explore the area.

Minecraft is a game that was a part of my childhood, and it is probably the only video game that I've ever really enjoyed and kept playing. Whenever I play whether it's together with friends or family or even just by myself I've always loved being able to build whatever I want both in creative mode and in survival. Playing with my brothers we will often play in survival and I will usually build us an entire complex that is different every time, I love being able to collect resources and plan and build anything I want. I've built mansions, houses, treehouses, storage sheds, paths, farms, and so much more. Playing by myself I love to find a village and using my own builds expand and grow it. I've had worlds where I started expanding a village and I built a subway system, a bee farm, a zoo, an armory, a town hall, a theme park, a trading hall, and of course I built myself a mansion with a massive fish tank visible from both the inside and the outside. I love how Minecraft can be anything you want and how I can build and create anything my mind can think of. I love being able to work hard and build something incredible.
