My name is Khusbu Bhushal (sher/her) and I grew up in a minority family in Nepal. I was raised through kinship care, and in my household, education was not just a privilege but a necessity. My technical journey began in 9th grade through Tumblr, where customizing blog themes sparked my love for coding. Since then, I’ve been passionate about learning, creating, and building meaningful software. I am one of the recipient of the 2025 Affinity Plus Foundation Scholarship, awarded in recognition of my leadership, academic perseverance, and service to others in Minnesota. In 2021, I received the Academic and Cultural Sharing Scholarship, which helped me begin my educational journey in the U.S. to study Computer Science. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities and continuously looking for ways to finance my education. I also currently serve as President of the Society of Women Engineers at St. Cloud State University and volunteer to encourage young women in STEM in Minnesota. My goal is to expand technical literacy in underprivileged communities so others can build the same dreams I once held in the palm of my hands.
