Bio

I have always been a hard worker and am able to volunteer to help others. I am undecided still on where a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drawing and Design will take me, but I have 3 more years of college to figure it out. My favorite accomplishment so far was completing all 13 years of Girl Scouts and working with Community Service projects for years. Thank you for your consideration in making my college dreams a reality.

"Thanos the T-Rex" is by far, my favorite drawing of a dinosaur that I have created. Using a regular mechanical pencil, this creation came about as a drawing for a friend. Instructions were just that he wanted a drawing of a T-Rex and 'make him special'. So, I set out to create a unique setting and back drop of a mix-mash of items revolving around "Thanos." I added miscellaneous items daily and incorporated detail and shading where I could. My friend, Owen, was amazed at how much I was able to fit in the picture with the T-Rex and not have it be over-stimulating. This style of drawing reminds me of a "Hidden Object" puzzle or a "Where's Waldo?" game. I wanted to create an "aha!" moment for the brain when you find something new each time you look at it. Discovering something hidden in plain sight gives you a sense of accomplishment and trains your brain to slow down and have fun with it. I chose the name Thanos the T-Rex because I enjoy the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and I tend to favor a good villain. So, Thanos fit the bill! Drawing dinosaurs mixes imagination with science, bringing this T-Rex back to life and the adding all the eclectic elements in the background. I am a current college student at Northern Kentucky University studying Visual Art & Design: Drawing, going for a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I am trying to pay for my own college degree without the burden of student loans. With any scholarship money received I plan to purchase Art & Drawing supplies to further my college career. I have no doubt that Cash Ryder was a passionate junior artist who adores dinosaurs. No words can take away your loss and your pain. He was a creative light and had a unique spirit. May the wonderful memories and artwork from Cash bring peace to your heart. Thank you for your consideration of this memorial scholarship. I hope this scholarship keeps the memories & passions of Cash Ryder Lanspeary alive for years to come. Sincerely, Addyson Khristine Wind

Growing up a child of divorce, I didn't always see eye to eye with my mom. I gave her a hard time, because I didn't understand why we left my childhood home & friends. 12 years later, I understand why we needed to leave a toxic relationship and what her intentions were for myself and my sister. She has always been in my corner, cheering me on, pushing me to be my best self. She knew my full potential before I ever did and she accepted no less. My mom was my Girl Scout leader, my Youth Group leader, my cheer coach, and my friend. She taught me the importance of volunteering and community service. We didn't always have extra money, but we always had "time" to volunteer. My mom was always able to work a full-time job, be a full-time single mother, and still make time for all our extra curriculars. She inspires me to walk in her footsteps daily. In my future, I plan to take her lead. Participate, volunteer, lead, make a difference. I am very skilled when it comes to Art, so I have no doubt that wherever the future takes me, it will have something to do with the Arts. I hope to use my college degree to inspire other artists out there, to share talents and ideas. I would love to work on wall murals in the community, lead youth art seminars to encourage and offer skills. It would be meaningful to host Community Art nights where kids have a chance to showcase their art, through music, dance, drawing, painting, sculpture, & photography. My intention is to get involved with programs in college that focus on youth Art activities and to continue to volunteer with programs offering aid to the homeless community as well. I am still active in my church programs assisting with donations to various non-profit organizations as well as a monthly program feeding the homeless at a local shelter. I have no doubt that the leadership and values I learned as a child, and through watching my mother raise two daughters, that I will also be a productive member of society. I can only hope that someday I, too, will want to be a Girl Scout Leader Volunteer, a Youth Group Leader volunteer, and possibly be a softball coach. My mother molded me to be an outstanding citizen and it now my job to mold my future. Thank you for your consideration. Addyson Wind
