Bio

Hi, my name is Khalie (pronounced kay-lee)and I am a 17-year old teenage girl from a big city in Florida. I was initially from the Bronx, New York, Home of the New York Yankees, then moved to Florida about 5 years ago. The environment change was a big deal for me as a young girl because I could not wrap my head around how hot it can get day to day. Although I might complain but without this weather, I would not have succumbed to multiple sports including softball. I love engaging in sports because not only did it allow me to understand how valuable a team is but it helped me strengthen my leadership and dedication skills. Aside from outdoor activities I also have a liking towards reading books and daily news. I find non-fiction books about criminal justice very fascinating which have brought me of interest as my future career. Somehow, someway I want to change the world uniquely. I find it very unethical and cruel that people are wrongfully convicted in jail for something they have nothing to do with. There are too many lawyers in this world to still have a high percentage of wrongfully accused innocents. I think of myself as a wonderful candidate because I aspire to be a change in people's lives with the motivational and inspirational drive. There needs to be a change and I want to be apart of that change with your help.

My name is Khalie Riggan, a young 17-year-old African American woman hoping to change the world with such small knowledge about the world. I would love to attend a 4-year university because I want to further my education in Law studies and become a business attorney. The reason I chose this occupation is that I felt drawn to this career.I've always wanted to help people and being able to help a company and having the company rely on you for help is both intimidating and exciting. This job is not known for minorities like African Americans, nonetheless African American women. I want others to know that as minorities we can do it too. Attending a 4year university is the ultimate dream. I would be the first person in my family to attend college.I would not only make my family proud but myself proud knowing that every party I sacrificed, every hangout I sacrificed, and every school event I sacrificed was all worth it in the end. This would bring me so much joy that I could be the brag of the family that one of us made it. This would initially help encourage me and keep me focused on school and thriving to bigger things. I plan on making a positive impact using my education by encouraging other African American kids out there that "black excellence" is indeed a thing and we can all be there if we stay focused. No matter where and how it is possible. I would teach the individuals tactics to use when struggling and use key points in life to motivate them to never stop thriving. I would use myself as an example and show them even with my struggles I benefited from them and used it to help me not hurt myself. I want to show people that they can be whatever they want if they put their minds to it. Growing up I was told that we can only go so far in life because of our skin color. I was told that as minorities in this world that our best bet was a high school diploma and becoming a manager at our local cornerstone is the most we can do. I didn't like the idea of that. I felt that we shouldn't have belittled ourselves because we can't take a little challenge. I want to others with such little mindset that it is indeed impossible to think bigger and be bigger with education. Because after all, our mind is our willpower.
