I am a cheerful, thankful, and simply living life sort of person that enjoys the concept of unity and being in the company of others. I'm an extrovert who enjoys being around people and has a lot of sporting experience. I participated in volleyball, track and field, and cheered for my high school team, Jefferson High School. I hear about African Americans like me being advocated for by coming to protests and advocating my community members were either thrown in prison, deceased, or just treated unfairly due to our white peers or by a faulty judicial system, which in my situation makes me sad for how a system that is supposed to care is destroying us quicker by the day on a brighter note I've also done babysitting for children. I run a company called Lwi Gloss where I sell homemade lipgloss and bundles of items like eyelashes and scruchies that I make while working as a high school counselor at outdoor school.

I would great for this award because I am a hard worker who is committed to my art. I have a business that I'm growing through Instagram and wanting to extend into hair and beauty. I want to assist a fellow black entrepreneur by showing them how to start a business from the ground up, and I want to make sure I'm doing my part as a black-owned firm attempting to make a name for itself. The passion I have for my community is immense, as seen by the fact that I have attended protests, supported other black owned business, and re-posted and spoken about issues that affect our black neighborhood . As if I don't believe we're losing more individuals every day as a result of racist, self-inflicted, and police brutality crimes that have pushed African-Americans out of the country.
I am protesting in order for the future generation of African-American youngsters to be educated and informed of the issues that are preventing us from progressing. White nationalists have been punishing us for generations, claiming that eradicating black people is the only way to go. Family and culture are crucial in the middle of a pandemic. People of color have been attacked as a result of COVID-19, as well as police violence. as well as a demand that the police be defunded.
I look up to my grandfather and sister, both of whom have completed college or are working toward a graduate degree. I suppose I see myself in them because they have worked hard to reach where they are or are still striving to improve themselves, and I have placed myself in their shoes. Because of their ideals of how we should be realistic and how you constantly state "Nothing is free," and to see the best in people when it comes to success. You see that hard effort and devotion are the only approaches to obtain what you want. That is the mentality I aim towards all of the time because I believe that if I work hard enough, I will have a better life.
I want to show my younger African-American peers how to have a successful life in the United States while avoiding jail time or death at the hands of our judicial system. I just wanted to express my gratitude to everyone at SEI who has contributed to a positive element of my life, as well as the people who have had a beneficial impact on my life.
