    Revolutionary Builder Scholarship

To be revolutionary, you have to feel a burn for change. You have to know that if you do not succeed, you will have to come to terms with the fact that everything is going to stay the same. A revolutionary person is more than just a leader. They inspire young children and encourage the old. They emulate power and poise so that when an enemy arises, they can be torn down with ease and might. They must be strong enough in their faith to know that failure is not, and never will be, an option. They must be extraordinary so that the people around them will feel empowered. They must have the confidence to take on any and every challenge. They must have the wisdom to make good decisions. She/he has to have a pure heart and a strong mind, in order to lead with an equal amount of both. To be revolutionary, one has to feel the pain that one wishes to take away from others. They have to understand what their community has gone through so that they know how to never put them through it again. If the leader does not understand, nothing will ever change. The community will not grow. Hearts will not be healed. Their experiences are almost as important as what they actually do for their community. Without their experiences, they would have no idea how to make sound decisions. They become a shell of the person they were meant to be. Their experiences help them and us to know what not to do when challenges arise. That burn I mentioned has to feel like an inferno. Hotter than the hottest of suns. We will not survive without that fire. We will not survive without their memories. To be revolutionary is one thing, but to be a member of a minority while doing it is even more amazing. A revolutionary black human fights until they cannot fight anymore. Naturally, we have to push hard in order to be heard; but a person of this mindset has to push even further. They push their community in the right direction, setting us on the course to a brighter future. The revolutionary black woman gives everything she has to her people. She has to convince both her people and every other race that she is worthy of their respect. She inspires little black girls to demand equality. She fights for the women who could not fight before her, and the women who will continue the fight after her. By standing up for herself and the women around her, she shows all Whites, Blacks, Asians, etc that black women are powerful and we deserve to be treated as such. She burns for a better world. To be revolutionary is a blessing to those who cannot be. Not everyone has this gift. Not everyone has a fire within them. But if we all come together, under the direction of this human, we can be extraordinary. Thank you.
