Ever since I can remember, numbers have fascinated me. My interest in accounting began as a spark during my early school days and evolved into a passion as I navigated through different math classes. The more I delved into the world of accounting, the more I saw its power in providing insights into the heart of business operations. I have always excelled in mathematics classes. In middle school, I took high school math, in high school, I took college calculus 1 through 3 at ETSU. I have always found it quite simple to understand new formulas and ways to approach a mathematic equation and I am very good at explaining mathematics as a tutor. As I envision the future, I see my accounting education as a toolkit to make a positive impact in the business world. Simple Pleasures. It is not something most think about every day, but it is important. One simple pleasure of mine is going random road driving with my Australian Shepherd with the windows down and the music blasting. This makes me very happy and always calms my nerves because it is just me, my dog, and the music. Another Simple Pleasure of mine would have to be cooking. I have always loved to cook, and I love seeing my family's reaction to each unique meal. Cooking has this calming effect on me. Simple Pleasures. Another simple pleasure of mine would be softball. I love going to the field by myself and just doing my thing. It is my escape from reality. I also love helping my teammates out. Whether it is a mechanical issue in their swing or they are in their own head, I love being a leader.

Self-care is a very important part of growing up. I grew up shutting out my emotions and caring only about helping others. Although I still try to make sure everyone else is okay, I have realized that I need to take my own advice. I have always been the one people come to and they usually leave the conversation with a better mindset. Recently, I had to break off a toxic friendship for my own mental health. The relationship was mentally draining and even started giving me very bad anxiety and even occasional anxiety attacks. Up until meeting this person, I did not struggle with anxiety much, and it took 8 months for me to realize I wasn't who I used to be because of this person. I ended the friendship, and it has been up since then. I didn't even recognize myself, and it took a lot to leave. That situation made me realize I needed to care for myself. I cannot truly love and care for anyone else until I love myself. So, from that day on, I have actually focused on myself and my wellbeing. I also registered my dog, and best friend, as an ESA Service Dog. Focusing on myself and having my dog to pay attention to has definitely helped, from taking her on walks and being at peace to just going for car rides with her. I am learning every day how to self care.

I am a current senior at David Crockett High School who was recently named the Salutatorian out of 350+ students. I also participate in softball and have received several offers to play on college teams. I am also a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church and I work at Zaxby's in Greeneville, Tennessee. I am planning to major in Accountancy/Finance as well as minor in Interior Design and Sports Management in addition to receiving my Real Estate License. I very much enjoy anything math and numbers related, and I love handling the money at work. According to recent articles, the ratio of men to women in the real estate community is 70%:30%. I am looking to even that ratio out. I actually had to do a project in DE Psychology my junior year where I planned out my journey to reach my eventual goal. My plan is pretty drawn out, but some things do not go as planned. I am looking to minor in interior design because when I get my own house, I want to completely design it myself to be built. I would also love to get a job surrounding interior design, accounting and real estate. I am going to minor in sports management so that I can coach young female athletes to grow up to do big things and show them that they can do anything they want to.

I started playing sports at the age of four. I played T-Ball, Basketball, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Dance, and Cheerleading. Growing up I loved being active. My interests grew stronger and stronger for the game of softball with age. My T-Ball coach soon became my machine pitch coach, then coach pitch, then kid pitch. When I hit high school, I decided it was time to focus solely on softball. I am now a senior in high school playing 18u for that same coach. He is basically my second father. He has inspired me in so many ways on and off the field. I was a catcher through coach pitch then I remember him calling my dad saying he needed a pitcher; little did I know that would be my home heading into college. Pitching brought a new love for the game and a new role. Growing up beside him, I learned the importance of leadership, competition and the most important thing: respect. When I hit 10u travel ball, I was very selfish and got upset when people messed up. This coach kept his cool with me and helped show me how a true leader should act. The change did not come instantly, I still have my moments. But over time and over many lectures, I have grown to learn that a team works better when there is respect and trust. This coach has inspired me to have respect not only for my coaches and teammates, but for the other team. He has inspired me to have respect for others in situations outside of the diamond. I would not be where I am today without this man. Now, getting offers to play the game I love at the collegiate level is the best feeling ever. And my decision could have been made by now, but I am having to find the cheapest option instead of the college that feels like home.
