I dream of becoming a person that has the ability to help others. While that is a very broadly applicable sentence, it has always been my personality growing up. Helping friends after they have scraped their leg on the concrete to comforting others because of a loss of a family member, I find my fulfillment in the content of those around me. This trait has driven me to the path of psychology, and my dream of becoming a psychologist. I have begun pursuing my dream by taking classes early on that will help broaden my understanding of the field of psychology, and have done what I could to get ahead of the curve. My passion and determination to achieve this goal have helped light a fire under me in ways that are hard to describe. I want to be there for people that no longer have others to turn to, they have been left and have no one or thing there to help them and listen to them, and I want to be the person that they can talk to and lean on. It is not fair the way the world is and how others need to struggle to survive, so I wish to become a psychologist in order to alleviate others burdens. My next step is simply funding my studies when I reach the collegiate level. This in and of itself will be difficult as nothing is cheap, and any money that I earn from jobs goes towards savings for college. I will search out any help available for aspiring psychology majors, and take it. The opportunities are there for a reason and I will try my best to not only succeed in my field, but to excel in it. I have the drive and want to become better, and I will apply the same hunger to going after my dream. While nothing is set in stone, I believe that if anyone puts their minds to it they can become something extraordinary, as long as they have the drive and discipline required. Because I will be pursuing at least a masters in psychology and other adjoining programs and minors to deepen my understanding, I have a very long road ahead of me. Even if I do not win this scholarship, I will not stop in the pursuit of my dream and will do all that I can to ensure that it becomes my reality.
