Hi! I am Kennedy Anne Quattlebaum! I am a competitive, creative dancer. I am a competitive cheerleader. I am a track athlete. I am a Girl Scout. I am on the yearbook staff. I am a member of the Beta club. I take dual enrollment classes. I have a volunteer “shadow” job. I am an older sister. People often say “you are doing too much” or “why don’t you focus on one thing” or “you’re going to burn out if you keep this up.” But I don't believe that I am not doing too much. I am growing. I am having new experiences. I am learning from different teachers and community leaders. I am building a network of peers. I don’t see my involvement as separate activities. They are all part of the whole – me. They all aid in my growth and development as a young woman. They all aid in keeping my mind open to other viewpoints and experiences. My involvement keeps me engaged in the community. My goal in life is to become an orthopedic surgeon, a dance choreographer, and a business owner. This is not three separate goals. This is one goal. My one goal. All my current activities help me in gaining the skills needed to be a business owner, in learning more about the mechanics and movement of the body, and in finding joy in the small things that happen every day. I don’t believe that I must choose to be “this” or “that.” I can choose to be “THIS AND THAT”. It just takes a bit of coordination, scheduling, and determination. All of which I possess.
