Hi, my name is Kennedi Mitchell I’ve lost my grandmother 2020 as a victim to gun violence she was sitting outside of her apartment with her friend and the suspects starting firing shots at each other and unfortunately it went through my grandmothers head and back and she passed right away. My grandmother got to see my mom in college but not me graduating from my high school now I’m where my mom is in Cameron university. My mother is in a masters program and studying professional counseling while I’m a freshman studying finance, my grandmother was a nurse and always went for her dreams ever since my family lost her it’s been hard but we still strive to become great so we know she is proud of us. My fight is for my grandma so she can look down and see me elevate everyday the hard work I put in for school, my job, my friends, and my family. I fight for the justice my grandma deserves because her killer was never found, I will always be strong and let god handle everything and me to keep striving to be the strong successful woman I was born too be.
