I have been so fortunate to go to a high school with an introduction to healthcare program. For the last 4 years I have gotten an in-depth look into the nursing field. I have participated in critical science classes similar to introductory nursing classes, participate in volunteering programs to increase healthcare advisory and spend multiple hours in the hospital setting. All of these aspects have only increased my love for the healthcare field and helping people. Recently I was able to witness how impactful nurses are in someone’s life first hand, and how wonderful and needed the nursing field is. A few months ago my grandmother fell and injured herself pretty significantly and needed surgery. She was in the hospital for over a month and I visited her often there. It was difficult to see her in so much pain and often scared and confused. However I always left with a sense of ease, watching how the nurses loved and cared for her. This was their calling and it was inspiring. After that experience it only solidified how much I want to be able to give that kind of peace to my future patients and their families. I will take this experience with me as I go towards my career. In my future I envision myself helping patients in underserved areas, bridging gaps in healthcare, and embracing the opportunity to learn from diverse communities. In the nursing field, I hope to not only provide exceptional care but also inspire others to pursue their goals with passion and determination. I am committed to continuing my education, growing as a professional, and contributing to a field that has the power to transform lives. Nursing is a challenging but rewarding path, and I am excited to embark on this journey and make a positive impact wherever my career takes me. However, even though my family is very proud of all the things I have been able to accomplish, I know that I can do some real good in the world in areas that don’t always get the services they deserve. I appreciate all of my family’s support so much, but while I was blessed with so many traits and qualities, we are not in the financial place to pay for my college so that I can become a nurse. That is why I believe I am deserving of this scholarship. I have prepared my life for a career dedicated to the help and well-being of others, therefore with this help you will be giving me, it will go towards helping those in need that others might overlook. My faith is extremely important to me and the person who has inspired me the most is my dad. His honest devotion to learning the Word of God has shown me what it means to seek and live out my faith. I often admire his commitment to growing spiritually and it encourages me to do the same. Whether it is seeing him pray or him telling me an astonishing story that connects the first and second testaments, he sets an example of what it is like to follow Christ with complete devotion. His faith isn’t something he practices on Sundays, he lives by the foundation that he has built. Through all of this, he has inspired me to make faith the foundation of my life as well. In addition to the amazing example he provides for me, he is also completely devoted to me, my activities and our family. Even at the sacrifice of himself for our happiness.

Playing sports has taught me to value hard work and dedication as I pushed myself to the limits each and every day. It started when I wanted to play soccer earlier in life. My passion for the sport only strengthened, and I knew I wanted to play at the collegiate level. As I grew older, I looked up to the high school teams, I would go to their games and dream of the time when I would get to walk on that court or run on that field proudly wearing the school colors. I watched the girls play and work together, and loved it, but had no idea how absolutely amazing that would actually feel until I experienced it. Without sports I would never know how people I am not related to can become family. My teammates are my sisters and their families are my uncles, aunts and cousins. I can count on them to be my support system and cheer squad. Playing sports has also taught me how to push through adversity and showed me how strong and tough I can really be. It taught me to fight for myself, push my limits and has made me more proud than I ever have been in any other part of my life. Playing high school sports has ingrained me in how to fight for something I wanted and showed me how gratifying accomplishing goals can be. It made me who I am and it shows me who I can become. Playing sports in high school changed the trajectory of my academic career. It taught me how to manage all of my activities and get really skilled in time management. I also learned from my grueling high school schedule was perseverance. Keeping my goals of being a really good student and teammate kept my eyes on the task in front of me and allowed for working past exhaustion on late-night study sessions or practices. Unfortunately, injuries and disappointments have happened more times than I would like to remember, but each time this has happened it has pushed me to work harder to be stronger and to protect myself better. Through these challenging times, I found a calling. My injuries taught me to learn about my body, to learn how to take care of it and how much I want to do that for others. That is why I am excited to pursue a career in nursing. I plan to play soccer at Missouri Valley College while getting a nursing degree.I am very confident with everything that I have learned by being a student athlete I can pursue a career in nursing, play collegiate soccer and achieve my dreams. From a young age, I have always been going. I quickly learned to value hard work and dedication as I pushed myself to the limits each and every day. It started when I wanted to play soccer earlier in life. My passion for the sport only strengthened, and I knew I wanted to play at the collegiate level. As I grew older, I only found more to add to my schedule. When I got into high school, I balanced marching band, show choir, club and high school volleyball, and club and high school soccer. I also found my way into the National Honor Society, which helped me truly understand how good it feels to help people in need. I spent many hours planning fundraisers for certain cancers and diseases. My main goal was to bring awareness in hopes for people to get the help they need. Through all of this, I also maintained two jobs and a high GPA. Juggling the responsibilities has taught me how important time management is. Going from early morning band practice, to a full day of school, then to volleyball practice after school, and club soccer practice after that was exhausting. Oftentimes I found myself finding any spare moment to finish homework or even sneak in a nap. This taught me how important it is to use my time wisely and prioritize the most important and necessary things. Another thing I learned from this grueling schedule was perseverance. Keeping my goals of becoming a nurse and playing soccer in college kept my eyes on the task in front of me and allowed for working past exhaustion on late-night study sessions. I am very confident with everything that I have learned; I can pursue a career in nursing and achieve my dreams. This scholarship is necessary in order for me to go to college to pursue my education and a career in nursing while also continuing my dream of playing collegiate soccer. I am grateful for all the lessons I’ve learned along the way to where I am now, and I am eager to apply my dedication and perseverance to my studies, practices, and even my future profession. Becoming a registered nurse is more than a career goal—it is a calling. I am eager to join a profession that combines science, critical thinking, and compassion to make a tangible difference in the world. As a travel nurse, I envision myself helping patients in undeserved areas, bridging gaps in healthcare, and embracing the opportunity to learn from diverse communities.

Ever since I was little, I have wanted to play soccer in college. I can't remember a time where I didn't play soccer. it started with the recreational leagues and then when I got into 4th grade, my team went competitive and I played with them until my freshman year where I fortunate to earn a place on a big club in Kansas City. I am currently in my last season with them . I first joined to help better prepare me for high school soccer but now I can't imagine where I would be without the guidance I received from my coach and the friendships I gained from my teammates. During my first high school soccer season, I was blessed with the opportunity to be one of the starting 11 players on the field. We then advanced to the state tournament for two years in a row and won our eighth straight district title. For my school, I am also members of a few clubs including National Honor Society and HOSA (Future Health Professions, formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America) which I have donated over 100 hours of community service for. I am a leader and organizer of HOSA so some of the community service projects I lead was planning a bake sale to raise money for breast cancer, collecting pledges for a Polar Bear Plunge that helped fund The Special Olympics. I have done research to know that all types bullying can lead to self harm. That is why I am an advocate for mental health, suicide awareness and anti bullying efforts. I was proud to help pass out purple and teal ribbons at football games during Suicide Awareness Month to remind others of their options in times of crisis. I also try hard to set an example for showing how to stand up for other when I see bullying happen. It is not a time to be quiet. I also volunteer at my church to further teach the younger generations about their faith and why it is important. In this, I spend many hours giving back to my community while volunteering for various things. One example of this is when I gave my time to help with the S.T.A.R.S. (Success Through Adapted Rec Soccer) program. This is an opportunity to make soccer accessible to all individuals. I worked with kids ages 5 through 8 with special needs. It was inspiring to work with kids who love the sport just as much as I do. I am fortunate enough to live a life where I do what I love while also helping the people in my community. While I was blessed so much in my life, my family isn't in the financial place to pay for my college. I am so grateful for all of the support my family has given me to chase my dreams and I know they would love for me to continue my dream and they are heart broken that they cant fund my dreams anymore. My parents are incredible people work really hard and sacrifice everything for their 4 children, but saving for college was just not something they were able to do. So without finical help I will not be able to continue my education to become a registered nurse.

The nursing field has always been a profession to me that stands out for the requirement of compassion, service, and precision. I plan on pursuing nursing because it gives me the chance to make a difference in the lives of the people under my care while also allowing myself to grow emotionally and mentally. Growing up as an athlete, I was constantly in and out of doctors’ offices and physical therapy. I admired the skilled professional’s ability to make me feel secure in upsetting times. Whether it was getting to know me as an individual rather than just another patient in need of treatment or using their knowledge to take life-saving measures, a nurse’s role is crucial in health care. My ultimate goal is to become a registered nurse. I am eager to join a career that allows me to help others and make a positive impact on those around me while also gaining diverse clinical experiences. I hope to not only provide high-quality and compassionate care for all individuals but also inspire others to pursue their goals with determination. I believe that I am a strong candidate for the nursing profession because of my personal qualities, work ethic, and experiences within the field. As a high school senior and dual sport athlete, I have learned how to balance the demanding schedule of all activities. This commitment has taught me a strong sense of time management and the ability to perform under pressure, which are both skills required for pursuing the medical field. In addition to my dedication for the nursing field, I have experience caring for my community and patience. While in high school, I have done my part in educating my peers about common health problems and what can be done to prevent them. I also understand the importance of respecting patients’ needs and concerns. I strive to be a source of comfort and strength for those under my care. I have learned these traits from my anatomy and health-care sciences teacher, Ms. Geist. She gave me my spark for pursuing the medical field and taught me everything I know about providing care for individuals in need. Seeing her speak of all things in the human body inspired me to become a nurse. I was fortunate enough to have such a great mentor that placed us directly in hands-on experiences, such as allowing us to examine the cadavers inside of a Cadaver lab and other medical scenarios, to get a feel of our future. Having these experiences helped strengthen my desire and passion to become a registered nurse. Nursing is a very challenging but rewarding path, and I am extremely excited to get my career started. I am truly inspired and motivated to make a positive impact every day.

As I am going into health care, my primary career goal is to leave a lasting positive impact on those under my care. I am passionate about the medical field and would like to pursue my goal of becoming a registered nurse. Nursing is more than just a career; it is a commitment to making a difference in people’s lives when they are in need. I want to be able to leave a bright memory in what is most likely a dark and challenging period for patients and their families. Just recently, I had the honor of participating in a simulated mass casualty accident. Witnessing the trauma team’s response to our call for help inspired me to look for ways to care for my community. This experience solidified my desire to pursue my dreams and give back by being a nurse. One way I look to support my community is with health education. Raising awareness about preventative care can help people act on any health challenges before they become critical. An example of this could be educating people that proper exercise and nutrition are important to prevent common health challenges. I strongly believe that if people were equipped with this knowledge, making informed decisions about their well-being would be easier. Another way I can add care to my community is with patient care. Providing high-quality and compassionate care to all individuals with healthcare needs is the core of nursing. I am devoted to assuring that every patient feels genuinely cared for. I strive to be the kind of nurse that leaves a positive impact on everyone that is under my care. I know that the nursing program is a difficult journey, but the chance to give back to my community will be worth it. My passion for health care motivates me through my hard path ahead, reminding me of the rewarding and impactful career. I am eager to give back to my community and to leave a positive impact of high-quality support on individuals I care for. I am anxious to apply my skills, compassion, and dedication to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. As I continue my path to become a registered nurse, my commitment to provide high-quality support remains to grow. To say that I am excited to get my career started is truly an understatement. I am genuinely inspired and motivated to make a positive impact every day.

I believe success can be defined differently for everyone and how they view their life. As a multi-sport athlete who is not only very involved in her teams, I am also devoted to my grades. I define success not as physical accomplishments and awards but as the idea of improving and bettering yourself as a whole. It's not about the product, but the journey and personal growth that comes with it. I was fortunate enough my freshman year to go to state with my soccer team. We ended up finishing third, but getting handed the trophy was not the most successful moment. Success to me is everything I learned on the way to where I am. I learned how to work well with others, how to work to achieve my goals, and how to learn from my mistakes. I define success as the effort and quality I put into my academics. It is tough being able to balance my training schedule and my schooling. This pushes me to make sacrifices. Unlike most, I have chosen a grueling but necessary path to find my own success. It's rewarding to know that every point of my GPA is earned through my hard work and determination. Knowing how hard my career path is, I feel my mindset will help me achieve my goals. Taking my next step into college, already knowing some crucial life skills, such as putting forth effort towards goals and learning from mistakes, can help lead to a successful future.
