Bio

Hello! My name is Kendra Edwards! I am currently a junior in college and am honored to be considered for scholarships. I am currently enrolled at the University of Tennessee Knoxville receiving my Bachelor's degree in Social Work. My drive and desire to be a social worker is immeasurable, and the ability and skillset to make a tangible and real change in an individual, community, or system is something I highly treasure and value. I hope to be involve in the macro-levels of Social Work, but I am not above micro-work. Mental health is an area I am interested in, as well as policy work, grant-writing, community outreach, and education systems. I have been involved in many leadership roles in the past, including obtaining a position as manager within 2-years of working in retail. I am familiar with what is asked of leadership, yet I am eager to learn and develop myself. One of my passions writing, both academically and creatively. The ability to create worlds and situations with nothing more than paper and pen or technology astounds me and inspires me. I have been told the writing is a strength of mine, but I am always searching to improve or utilize my skills in a proper space. Thank you for reading my bio and considering me for a scholarship. I appreciate your consideration.
