I am a determined and purpose-driven business administration major with a diverse background in healthcare, non-profit leadership, and entrepreneurship. My journey is defined by resilience, ambition, and a deep commitment to creating opportunities for others. As a mother to a preteen daughter and the wife of a Navy veteran, I have mastered the art of balancing responsibilities while pursuing excellence.
I come from a family where a college degree was once an unattainable dream—but I am rewriting that narrative. I will be the first in my family to earn a college degree, proving that education is not just a personal achievement but a transformational force that changes generations.
Through my experiences in healthcare and non-profit work, I have witnessed firsthand the impact of leadership, advocacy, and service. These experiences have shaped my vision for a future where businesses thrive not just for profit but for meaningful, community-driven change. My entrepreneurial spirit drives me to innovate, solve problems, and encourage those around me.
I am not just earning a degree—I am building a foundation for future leaders, including my daughter, to see that anything is possible with determination and hard work. With this scholarship, I will continue to break barriers, inspire change, and make a lasting impact in business and beyond.

Kalia D. Davis Memorial Scholarship
As a first-generation college student, a mother, and a woman fueled by purpose, I have always approached life with ambition and resilience. My journey has been one of balancing family, education, and service — each playing a vital role in shaping who I am today.
Giving back to my community has always been a driving force in my life. One of the most impactful experiences has been organizing and volunteering for a local food and gift drive during the holidays. What began as a small effort to collect canned goods turned into a coordinated mission that brought together families, neighbors, and local organizations. I helped plan logistics, secure donations, and personally delivered food baskets and gifts to families in need. Seeing the gratitude in their eyes always reminds me why community service is so important and fuels my spirit to continue down a path towards a greater tomorrow.
Sports have also played a powerful role in shaping my identity. As a former volleyball player, I learned discipline, perseverance, and the value of teamwork. The court taught me to push through failure and celebrate progress, lessons I carry with me in every area of life. Now, I’ve passed that love for the game onto my preteen daughter. Coaching and cheering her on has become one of my greatest joys. Watching her develop confidence and resilience through volleyball makes me incredibly proud — it’s a reminder that passion, when shared, can multiply and inspire.
This scholarship would not only ease the financial burden of my educational journey towards gaining my Bachelor's in Business Administration but would also represent recognition of the values I live by — ambition, perseverance, and impact. It would bring me one step closer to achieving my goal of launching my own business that supports underserved communities through educational programs, mentorship, and wellness initiatives. I believe real change starts at the grassroots level, and I’m committed to being part of that change.
Education is more than a personal goal for me — it’s a legacy I want to leave for my daughter. I want her to see that hard work, compassion, and a relentless spirit can open doors that once seemed unreachable. With this scholarship, I will be better equipped to continue my studies, deepen my community involvement, and serve as a role model for my family and others walking a similar path.
Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to continue making an impact, both in the classroom and beyond.
