Bio

I am a first-generation undergraduate student who wants to pursue a career in computer programming. I am a dependent student who has parents that struggle with financial issues. I want to use my skills in computer science that can be involved in particular projects that could help many people in the future with their needs, like programming a code that can create an impact socially and financially. I am currently earning my bachelor's degree in Information Technology to learn more about computers and how they work. I want to use the knowledge that I have learned to help others and invent new things later on in life. I care for my future and want to succeed in my passion for programming, but I also want my career to be critical in helping others in need and understanding what people like so I can apply it to computer science.

Chris Jackson Computer Science Education Scholarship
In middle school, I was doing after-school programs for fun instead of being bored at home. One of the programs they had there was coding. I may not have had personal experience building computers or using software programming. Still, I am obsessed with using technology, as in being on the computer all day or being on my phone, so I thought, why not try to do some computer programming at the time. When I was in the club, I enjoyed it a lot because I was making code that could draw and color different objects or animals for fun using a program website at the time; I enjoyed it. However, I did stop programming for a while due to not trying it out again. Still, I decided to major in evolving in computers because I like the idea of creating code that can be used to build anything you want, an object, an animal, or even a code that can play video games. After receiving a degree in computer science, I will first move on to graduate school. Then, I can get my Master's degree in computer science to become a Computer and Information Research Scientist or earn my bachelor's degree where I can create my video games. Since I have always loved playing story mode video games. I would be interested in making money by coding video games where it can impact people's lives and teach them lessons about life, friendships, or relationships that can motivate them to be different or change for the better. I would also like to join in on projects where it can benefit others, whether for a business or science or even in health, where I can research and create medicine for people in need. I love the idea of being involved in a computer science career of either entertaining people through making video games or even doing research projects that could help others in need. I believe I will be the best candidate for this scholarship because after reading about Chris' story, I feel I can relate to him as a person who likes to sit down and listen to people's problems. If I win this scholarship, it will motivate me to continue the path of getting my degree in computer science and give me a chance to finish my education since it can be tough to have enough money to get through school. I want to ensure that the amount of money I get from this scholarship will be worth it in the long run because it will benefit my education. It will also benefit my future career in doing something I love for the rest of my life and helping either a small group or a large group of people worldwide.
