Bio

I am a performer! This is my essence. Singing is my passion, my joy, and my purpose. I have performed since the age of three. I aspire to be the best singer possible to inspire the world with my music. Each year to improve my craft I set personal goals to push myself to improve in some aspects of singing and performing. I always set the bar high for myself when establishing my goals. Since entering high school I have found a variety of performance troupes that I had to audition to gain entry. After acceptance into these various competitive groups, I work hard to ensure I get performance opportunities and learn from the expertise of the instructors. I have earned solo performances because of the initiative I take to work at improving. I have had to research and create opportunities to continue to develop my talent. My commitment to music has fueled my determination and solidified my ability to set goals and achieve them. My love for music, dance and performing pushes me to excel in all aspects of my life. The joy that music brings me allows me to work hard to be the best in everything that I do. I continue to volunteer, maintain a 4.7 GPA, and work part-time to save money for college. My mother and father often say that “when you love what you do, you won’t work a day in your life.”

As early as my memory permits, I have worked to pursue the same career goal I’ve had since I was five years old and was asked what I want to be when I grow up. I have always aspired to become a successful singer and I know I will never give up. Additionally, I have always aspired to achieve great academic success. I have always worked my hardest to gain and experience new things that could lead me closer to my goals. Although I work hard to reach my goals, I have faced many hurdles in pursuing music as my passion and also developing the skills necessary to achieve academically. The obstacles I’ve faced in both aspects of my journey have allowed me to learn and grow as a person. I believe in my talent. This challenge sometimes feels insurmountable after a rough vocal lesson or a missed solo opportunity. Many obstacles are to come on this journey towards my goals, though I am ready to grow, learn, and overcome them. All of the times I’ve been told no or I haven’t gotten a lead solo or a part in a production, are all moments that have helped me develop as a person. Knowing and believing in my talent is one thing, continuing to work to improve and refine all that my voice can do is often daunting. I believe in my work ethic. I have taken vocal lessons, participated in various singing groups, taken many chorus classes, and have worked on my craft. I know I still have work to do in order to improve my vocal abilities. In the future there will be inevitable challenges that I will encounter, with that I will analyze and learn my way through the ropes. Education has also always been a particularly important thing to me. As I have gone through and progressed from grade to grade, I have been able to garner a great amount of knowledge. Now that I am a senior and a soon to be graduate, I have been able to reflect on my time during school from elementary to middle, and middle to high school. Having academic success was and will always be an important goal. There have been many ups and downs in this time, but I am forever grateful to have learned and grown from these experiences. As a student I have always wanted to strive to be the best I could be. I have always been motivated to aim for academic excellence and to be active in my school life and community. Although I have the drive to achieve, I have had my own fair share of challenges that I needed to overcome. My passion to succeed academically and in music drives me and keeps me motivated to continue to work towards my goal. My love for music and my love for learning are parallel journeys that are fueled by a desire to overcome any obstacle placed in front of me. I have always had a passion towards pursuing music within the music industry. Becoming a successful recording artist will always be my lifelong goal. Being able to share my music with others in such a universal way is such a beautiful thing. There will be many obstacles that I will have to overcome on this journey. I am prepared to work and persevere through those challenges in order to do what I love. I look forward to my journey and future no matter where it takes me.

We are all in this world together so I strongly believe it is important for us to be kind to one another and help whenever there is a need. My parents instilled in me the value of the traditional saying “treat people the way you want to be treated.” When others see you giving your time and enjoying giving a helping hand, I believe it inspires others to do the same. It does not take much to be kind and loving to the world and others. I have dedicated much of my life volunteering in order to give back to others and be a positive influence in my community. I enjoyed all aspects of my community service activities because of how I've been able to connect and get involved with people who love to serve and help. I feel great knowing that giving my time, caring for others, helping those younger than me and supporting teachers leaves a good feeling and a lasting impact with those that I have served. One of my most memorable volunteering opportunities occurred when I volunteered at a summer performing arts camp. This is a moment that I will always cherish because of how I got to connect and have fun with the campers. As a volunteer assistant camp counselor, I was able to help young camp participants grow and become confident in their performing abilities. Serving as a counselor at this camp was especially meaningful to me because I attended the same camp when I was around nine years old. Within this service activity I was able to help and assist the many campers with whatever they needed. I helped them learn their parts for the end of summer show, supervised them, ensured they were safe, and made sure they felt valued and helped many of them develop the courage to step on the stage for the end of summer performance. I also enjoyed down time when I just focused on making sure they were having a good time. I learned a lot from this experience and I will forever be grateful that I was able to help foster a love of the performing arts in future performers in my community. During another summer I was also able to help out and serve at an elementary school. Volunteering at Nova Eisenhower Elementary allowed me to gain many new experiences that can help me as I grow. I was able to provide office support in many different ways. Often I would file stacks of papers, answer phone calls, gather information, organize documents and more. Assisting teachers towards the end of the summer was also very impactful to me. Seeing teachers get ready for the school year gave me much insight into the workforce and how much is required of teachers as they prepared for the opening of a new school year. During this experience I was able to assist with back to school parent information packets, organize lesson materials, set up classrooms and many more tasks. I appreciated my teachers more after spending time volunteering that summer. I got a first hand perspective on the dedication teachers give to their work and all that they do even before the first student steps into their class. Overall, being able to volunteer and serve for many different occasions has led me to want to keep on helping people in any way I can. Having volunteered at a summer camp allowed me to assist those that were younger than me. These experiences have fueled my desire to continue to volunteer and give back in my community.

Kelis Jasmine Tyghter is headlining her second world tour in 2027! This is my vision, my goal, my aspiration. I envision 5 million records sold and my music being enjoyed by an international audience. The joy, hope, and inspiration that music brings me will fuel the lyrics of songs that will impart these same emotions to everyone listening to my music. My goal is for my music to infiltrate the thoughts, emotions, and lives of people from all walks of life. Music has shaped the many experiences in my life to such a degree that I feel completely wedded to the idea of making music my life. I hope to share this passion in such a way that it not only moves people but inspires others. I believe in my talent. I believe in my work ethic. I have taken vocal lessons, participated in various singing groups, taken many chorus classes, and have worked on my craft. I know I still have work to do in order to improve my vocal abilities. Many obstacles are to come on this journey towards my goals, though I am ready to grow, learn, and overcome. In the future there will be inevitable challenges that I will encounter, with that I will analyze and learn my way through the ropes. Coming out as an individual that has experienced plenty of moments that have helped me develop as a person. Knowing and believing in my talent is one thing, continuing to work to improve and refine all that my voice can do is often daunting. Everyone may not love my tone, my pitch, my songs. I will have to ensure that I have the fortitude to withstand the criticism, corrective feedback, or dissenters. I will have to continue putting in the work necessary to not only work at improving my vocal ability but also improving my overall performance talent. There are many other aspiring artists working to achieve the same goals as me. There will be a lot of competition on this journey. The music industry is a competitive business. Though, I will work to be true to myself and express my music in a way that will connect with others. I aspire to perform and present music that can inspire and bring together many. Having the passion, desire, and commitment to get to a world tour and more will require the patience resiliency to work through the difficult moments ahead. I have always had a passion towards pursuing music within the music industry. Becoming a successful recording artist will always be my lifelong goal. Being able to share my music with others in such a universal way is such a beautiful thing. There will be many obstacles that I will have to overcome on this journey.
