My dream came true when I opened the admission status on my USC application. I did it, I got into USC. Tears of joy rolled down my face as I read I had been admitted into the School of Dramatic Arts for BA Theatre. As one of the top theatre programs in the nation, USC provides a fertile ground for aspiring actors like me to hone their craft and build meaningful connections with the future of Hollywood. The opportunity to study my passion at USC is like no other, its strategic location, distinguished faculty, strong industry connections, comprehensive curriculum, emphasis on experiential learning, and commitment to cultural diversity provide career-committed students like me the experience necessary to succeed in the competitive world of theatre and entertainment. In addition, studying Theatre at USC will allow me to work! With the TV and Film industry being at a halt these last couple of years, my opportunities to perform on set have lessened. I am beyond excited at the prospect of performing onstage and getting to work with film students!
My commitment to this field is very prominent, I have always said “Acting is the only thing I want to do, and the only thing I will do.” I have been so fortunate to have had incredible opportunities since I started acting in 2017 when I was 13. More recently I have been a part of projects that are not only important to who I am, but to my community. I had the honor of bringing to life the character of Sarah from a new rock musical called Rise. Rise tells the story of a group of young women who work as spies, smugglers, and leaders of the underground Jewish resistance as they organize and wage an uprising against the Nazi regime. Rise playwright Josh Hershfield introduced me to a world of other Jewish creatives enriching my artistic journey with a deeper connection to my cultural heritage. This opportunity opened my eyes to the world of Jewish theatre and helped me realize how important sharing Jewish stories is to me. I am proud to announce I have just booked the lead in a show for the West Coast Jewish Theatre. The Last Yiddish Speaker by Deborah Zoe Laufer tells the story of Paul and his teenage daughter, Sarah, who live under the radar in a small town upstate as Christian-passing, despite being Jews who fled New York City. When an ancient Yiddish-speaking woman arrives on their doorstep, Paul and Sarah are forced to decide between fleeing again or fighting for their faith, their heritage, and their identity. My journey in the entertainment industry has only just begun, and I am thrilled to see where USC will take me!
