Hi, I'm Keala Travers! I'm the Program Manager at Neighborhood Companions, Inc. (NCI), a Baltimore County-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing social isolation among older adults. Since joining the team in February 2025, I've played a central role in advancing NCI's programming, including the Tech It Easy (TIE) program, B.R.A.I.N memory cafe, and Senior Socials & Wellness events, all grounded in a commitment to dignity, connection, and community care. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Family & Human Services from Towson University, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at Howard University, with a focus on community advocacy, administration, and policy. My academic foundation deepens my approach to program development and systems-level thinking, particularly in the service of aging populations and underserved communities. I enjoyed tying my personal experiences to how it has shaped me into the person I am today. I take pride in being highly technology-inclined and deeply interpersonal and very passionate about turning compassion into action, ensuring that older adults and those in need have access to the resources, relationships, and support they deserve. Growing up in the community I now serve, I see it as an investment both personally and professionally. Thank you for visiting my profile!
