Living in a rural, isolated area also meant facing systemic resource gaps, particularly in healthcare access. I served on the Hawaii Youth Food Council to advocate for sustainable food access, led my peers as Secretary of our HOSA chapter, and pushed myself academically to ensure I was fully prepared for a rigorous college curriculum.
