I plan to study Cognitive Science with emphasis on Psychology in college driven by a strong passion for research on mental health and learning disorders. My family history has led to my interest in learning the cultural and environmental factors leading to mental health conditions such as ADHD and PTSD. I became involved in the ThinkNeuro internship collaborating to create educational children's books about ADHD to be distributed to San Francisco Hospitals . As an intern under the Child Mind Institute's Youth Mental Health Academy I studied different aspects of mental health conditions. I developed my capstone project on the role of acculturation in the approach to Depression in East Asian American immigrants (Intergenerational Perspectives on Mental Health).
