Sabrina Carpenter Superfan Scholarship
Sabrina is a barbie doll. I have always been a major fan of hers. I remember watching her when I was little on the T.V. I would always tell my mom, “I hope I’m like her one day!” I don’t know what I was thinking because I’m definitely not short, blonde, or a good singer! Even though I may not be those things, I can still be just like her.
Sabrina is classy, smart, funny, and honestly what every little girl wants to be in the future. Over the past couple of years I’ve watched her through a screen perform my favorite songs. I was so insanely jealous of everything about her. She was my American dream. My obsession got to the point of an obscured reality and view of myself. Looking at social media constantly and judging myself off of her and many others made me lose every part of myself. I didn’t even know who I was. My view of perfect became everyone but me.
As I continued to get older I started to gain more self confidence and love. Sabrina happened to be the one who tore it down but eventually bring it back again. Because of her and how much she’s done for me I’m going to college to pursue an education in mental health. I want to help teenagers who struggle with all kinds of emotional and physical altercations. Being a teenager is hard when you’re bombarded with so many expectations and I want to help those who feel lost. We all can be Barbie dolls.
