Bio

Hello! My name is Kayla, and I am an 18-year-old from the Bronx, New York. I am a rising freshman at the University of Pennsylvania, double majoring in English and Political Science on the pre-law track. My ultimate goal is to become a public interest lawyer and create change in education, housing reform, and other civil issues through impact litigation. Since middle school, I have been an avid contributor to my community, frequently volunteering at a church food pantry. I volunteered at a pantry in my neighborhood for the past three years (and still do), amassing over 100 hours. I also tutor young black and brown girls in math, help young city kids find a love for writing, and judge debate tournaments. I am finishing my last year of high school while working part-time at a tutoring center for K-8 students. In my free time, I love to read, stay up-to-date with the news, journal, watch movies, and bake.
