Bio

Hi! I am a goal-oriented, passionate student planning on pursuing a Nursing degree at Montgomery County Community College in fall 2026. I am committed to making a change in the hospital room with this degree. I come from a first-generation, low-income, single parent household looking to brake the cycle. I have worked hard through my high school career to overcome challenges while maintaining strong athletic and academic performance. Whether volunteering, leading teams to titles, or continuously working part time, I strive to grow and influence. I am currently seeking scholarships to help fund my education, reduce financial burden, and stay focused on a meaningful impact in this field, and even smaller to the people around me. Thank you for visiting my profile and supporting students!

Wrestling has always been more than a sport to me, it’s been a test of perseverance, discipline, and self-belief. As a female wrestler, I have faced my fair share of challenges, from battling stereotypes to overcoming serious injuries. Yet, each setback has only made me stronger, teaching me lessons that continue to shape the person I am today and the nurse I aspire to become. I first stepped onto the wrestling mat in elementary school, one of few girls in the state. At first, I struggled with doubt, not from my own, but from others who didn’t believe wrestling was a sport for girls. I remember overhearing someone say, “She won’t last a season.” That comment lit a fire inside me. I trained harder, pushed past my limits, and slowly began to earn respect through hard work and discipline. My first tournament win was a turning point. It wasn’t just about the medal, it was proof that I belonged. High school brought a series of challenges that tested both my body and my spirit. During my sophomore year, I tore the labrum in my shoulder, an injury that kept me off the mat for months. Watching my teammates compete while being unable was one of the hardest experiences I’ve ever faced. Physical therapy was painful, and progress felt frustratingly slow, but I refused to let the injury define me. Each day, I focused on small victories: reaching a little farther, rebuilding my strength, and visualizing my return. When I finally came back my junior year, I faced another unexpected setback—a sudden onset of a chronic migraine disorder. That year, God truly tested my perseverance and faith. Less than a year later, just as I was preparing for my senior season, I tore my labrum again. Still, I refused to give up. I returned to the mat with renewed focus and deeper appreciation for my first love. That season, I placed third at the PIAA state championships, a powerful reminder that faith and determination always pays off. Through wrestling, I’ve learned the value of mental toughness and teamwork. Even though wrestling is an individual sport, success depends on the people who push you coaches, practice partners, teammates and family. I’ve also learned how to stay calm under pressure, manage my time effectively, and balance academics with athletics. These skills became especially important as I began preparing for college, where I plan to pursue a degree in nursing. The connection between wrestling and nursing might not seem obvious, but both require determination, compassion, and endurance. As a nurse, I’ll face long hours, high-stress situations, and the need to stay calm and focused when others rely on me. My experiences as an athlete have prepared me for exactly that. Wrestling taught me to stay strong in difficult moments, to find solutions under pressure, and to care deeply about others’ well-being. These qualities I will carry into my nursing career. My goal is to use my journey to inspire others, especially young female athletes who may feel underestimated. I want to show them that strength comes in many forms and that setbacks don’t define you, but shape you. Whether on the mat or in a hospital room, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about winning; it’s about fighting through challenges with heart, faith and determination. Wrestling has given me more than medals, it’s given me resilience, purpose, and a vision for the future. I’m ready to take everything I’ve learned and use it to make a difference, both in my patients’ lives and in the lives of those who follow in my footsteps.
