Bio

My career goal is to be a successful educator in the field of early childhood education. I would love to teach abroad and would love to teach underprivileged children. I believe that every child deserves a great education and I want to be able to give children the opportunity to receive an education. I am currently accepted in the study abroad program, and have the opportunity to study in the United Kingdom. I am looking forward to learning about different cultures, teaching methods, and embracing another country. I have also applied for a short term study abroad program in Thailand. If accepted I will have the opportunity to work in Thai classrooms as well as explore Thai culture. I’m most passionate about equality for all people, whether that be in the political, educational, or social spectrum. I am a great candidate because I’m dedicated to my education and will be dedicated to my future career and the individuals I can affect throughout my lifetime.

    Billie Eilish Fan Scholarship
Billie Eilish has captivated the world with her unique sound and deeply personal lyrics. Her music resonates with many, including myself, for its authenticity and emotional depth. Here are my top three Billie Eilish songs and why they hold a special place in my heart. The first song that stands out to me is "When the Party's Over." This hauntingly beautiful ballad captures the complexity of letting go of something or someone you love. The raw emotion in Billie's voice, combined with the minimalist piano arrangement, creates an atmosphere of melancholy and introspection. The lyrics, "Don't you know I'm no good for you?" speak to the internal struggle of knowing that staying in a certain situation isn't healthy, yet finding it difficult to walk away. This song resonates with me because it perfectly encapsulates the bittersweet nature of endings and the courage it takes to move on. Another song that deeply resonates with me is "Everything I Wanted." This track explores themes of fame, mental health, and the pressures that come with success. The lyrics, "I had a dream I got everything I wanted, but when I wake up, I see you with me," highlight the importance of having a support system and staying grounded despite external pressures. The song's dreamy, ethereal production adds to its introspective quality, making it a comforting listen during times of self-doubt or anxiety. It reminds me that even when things seem overwhelming, having someone who understands and supports you can make all the difference. The third song that I find incredibly impactful is "Ocean Eyes." This was one of Billie's breakout hits, and it's easy to see why. The song's lush, atmospheric production and Billie's angelic vocals create a sense of longing and nostalgia. The lyrics, "I've never fallen from quite this high, falling into your ocean eyes," convey a deep sense of vulnerability and the overwhelming nature of intense emotions. This song resonates with me because it captures the feeling of being completely captivated by someone, to the point where it feels like you're drowning in their presence. It's a beautiful reminder of the power of love and the profound impact it can have on our lives. In conclusion, Billie Eilish's music resonates with me on a deep emotional level. "When the Party's Over," "Everything I Wanted," and "Ocean Eyes" are my top three songs because they each capture different aspects of the human experience—letting go, finding support, and falling in love. Billie's ability to convey such complex emotions through her music is what makes her one of the most compelling artists of our time. Her songs offer comfort, understanding, and a sense of connection, making them an essential part of my personal soundtrack.
    B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. Scholarship
I embody the B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. spirit by having a love for helping others and being a good person. Those are qualities that truly define a person's character. These attributes not only enrich the lives of those around you but also contribute to your own personal growth and fulfillment. In this essay, I will explore how these qualities manifest in daily life and the positive impact they have on both the individual and the community. A good spirit is often characterized by a positive attitude, resilience, and a sense of hope. People with a good spirit tend to approach life with optimism, even in the face of challenges. They are the ones who find silver linings in difficult situations and inspire others to do the same. This positive outlook is contagious; it can uplift the mood of an entire room and create an environment where everyone feels encouraged and motivated. Having a good spirit means being able to bounce back from setbacks, learn from them, and continue to strive towards your goals with renewed vigor. It is this resilience that often inspires others to persevere through their own difficulties. Loving to help others is a natural extension of having a good spirit. When you genuinely care about the well-being of others, it shows in your actions. Whether it's volunteering your time, offering a listening ear, or simply performing small acts of kindness, these gestures make a significant difference in the lives of those you help. Helping others gives a sense of community and connectedness. It reminds us that we are not alone and that we have the power to make a positive impact on the world around us. This sense of community is especially important in today's fast-paced, often isolating world. Moreover, helping others can be incredibly rewarding on a personal level. It provides a sense of purpose and fulfillment that material possessions or superficial achievements cannot offer. When you help someone, you not only improve their circumstances but also enrich your own life. The gratitude and appreciation you receive in return can be deeply gratifying and can reinforce your desire to continue helping others. In conclusion, I try to live both of these attributes everyday. I volunteer in my community and tutor students. I believe that my love for helping others enhance my life and the lives of those around me. They create a ripple effect of positivity and kindness that can transform communities and build stronger, more supportive relationships. By maintaining a positive attitude and actively seeking opportunities to help others, I know that I contribute to a better world and find a deeper sense of fulfillment and purpose in my own life. These qualities are invaluable, and their impact is immeasurable, and I hope I can spread hope and kindness in the lives of many.
    Jaqaun Webb Scholarship
I plan to succeed in college by learning all the things that I can in my field of study. Currently I am undecided on what I want to major in, but I am pursuing different options that relate to helping people. Whether that be social work, counseling, or teaching, I plan to focus on being the best student I can be. In order to succeed, ensuring that I focus on my studies, asking for help when needed, and being prepared and organized are what I need to ensure that I succeed. Additionally, I believe that success goes beyond just studying and getting good grades. I believe that interacting with others, meeting new people, and joining extracurricular activities are a big part of succeeding. Networking can help with your future career and you can gain connections. Utilizing social media platforms like LinkedIn is also a great way to get network. The benefits of a college degree are having a greater opportunity for employment after college. A degree not only shows future employers that you have the skills and education related to a specific career, but it also shows that you are dedicated and willing to put in the effort. Having the potential to earn more money is also a benefit of having a college degree. However, success to different people can mean different things and the level of success can only be determined by the person themselves. Overall, success has a great deal of benefits. As a student, you need to have a path for success and you need to put in effort to ensure success. There will always be roadblocks along the path of life, but perseverance and dedication will help you get through the roadblocks and continue to steer you through the path to succeed. I am looking forward to starting my college journey and building my own success story.
    Rural Community Scholarship

To me, the word community means family. Not only your immediate family, but your neighbors as well. People that gather around you in times of need or just in general. I live in a very small community and in my opinion, it’s a great community. I love the fact that I know all of my neighbors, and that if I needed some thing, I know that they would be there whether it be a cup of sugar or to borrow gas for the lawn mower. Growing up in a small community has been a great experience for me. I have made a lot of neighborhood friends that I still have to this day. I have helped my older neighbors shovel their sidewalks and rake their leaves. In return, my neighbors have helped us when we have been in need. I remember my mom’s car would not start and she was able to have someone help her jump the battery. It’s a great thing to know that you can rely on others to help and it’s a great feeling to know that you can help them as well. Looking at the broader community, we come together and help support each other. Whether it’s local businesses that you try and support or showing up for the local farmers market. These are the things that make a community great, people supporting each other. As a community, you want its members to know that they have support from others in the community. When there’s a tragedy you come together and support. When there’s a grand opening you come and support. People just want to know that others will show up for them and in return they will show up for you. This is what makes a community strong. I know that as I grow up, and the world takes me to different places, I can always rely on my community to give me a sense of family and makes me feel like I will always be home. Community is full of memories that people have the rest of their lives. A community is a sense of belonging and to me my community gives me that feeling. I will always cherish my community because of all the things that I have learned, all the memories I have made, and all of the love that I have felt from the members of my community. My community is my family.
    Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
The technology that inspires me about they way in which technology can make the world a better place is the telephone. The telephone has evolved tremendously over many years. It not only allows you to connect with someone in a different place, it allows you to do many more things. You can connect with friends and family over social networking platforms, which keeps you in touch. Not only can you talk to one another, you can stay updated by pictures, locations, and messaging. This not only allows you to stay in contact with friends and loved ones, but also allows you to learn about different places in the world that you weren't able to do with the original telephone. Using the telephone as a map can guide you to these destinations with ease. Additionally, you can operate electronics and utilities in your home with a touch of a button. You can turn on/off your lights, view who's at your doorstep with doorbell cameras, adjust your thermostat, and act as a remote control for your television. With the advancements of the telephone, it has provided users access to do extraordinary things. By connecting and giving access, people can make a greater change. It allows an easier and faster way to make a change. Overall, the telephone has transformed the way that people live. The technology has advanced in such a short amount of time, that there's no doubt that its evolution will continue in the future. There will always be more intuitive technology advancements that will continue to make the world a better place.
    Ruthie Brown Scholarship
I am planning on addressing my future student loan debt by doing everything I can to secure scholarships. I am not considered low-income, therefore I do not qualify for any federal grant money, and very limited federal direct loans. Instead of letting that get me down, I am looking for alternative ways to pay for college. I live in a single-parent household and cannot afford to pay for college, therefore I am applying for scholarships and working. I've been working at my current job since the summer before my junior year. I pick up shifts, and worked full-time in the summers so I can continue to save money. I have a system of saving half of my paychecks to go towards college tuition so that I don't have to take out many student loans. Unfortunately, working a minimum wage job does not add up quickly. I spend most of my free-time after school applying for scholarships, in the hope that I am awarded something to assist with the burden of student loan debt. I have applied for many scholarships on different scholarship forums to increase my chances. I have written numerous essays, with thoughtfulness, so that I give myself the best chance. If I do not get enough scholarships to cover my tuition, I will have to take out student loans. I plan on continuing to work while in college, so that I can start paying my loans back while in school instead of waiting until I graduate. By doing this, I will save on interest and the final amount won't be as much as it would have been if I didn't start paying on them immediately. I think that pursuing a college education is worth the cost of receiving student loans. By furthering my education, I not only am gaining knowledge and skill, but I will be able to advance my career. In addition to scholarships and student loans, I plan to try and join a work study program that will help with college expenses as well. I am ensuring that the colleges that I apply to have work study programs, or other employment opportunities on campus. I am willing to work hard in order to pursue my dream of going to college, no matter how difficult it may be. I am a very dedicated person when I set my mind to something, and I will not let finances stop me from pursuing my dream of getting a college degree.

The change I would like to see in the world is equal rights for all. Everyone deserves to have equal rights regardless of their religion, gender, sex, age, race, and ethnicity. We are all human beings and all deserve to be treated equally. The recent attacks on the LGBTQ+ and minority communities are heartbreaking and they shouldn't have to fight and protest in order to receive equal rights. African American's have been fighting for their rights for decades and are still discriminated against based on the color of their skin. Whether that be through police shootings, unequal imprisonment, and/or any other inequality, it is not just. Asian hate based on the assumption that "they" were responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic, is completely uncalled for. Hate crimes on the LGBTQ+ community just because they express their love differently than society thinks they should is absurd. All of these communities are made up of human beings who just want to be treated equally. They are not hurting anyone, and society needs to accept the fact that people are not the same. People have the right to be individuals, whether or not someone likes it, should not be a reason to degrade and abuse people. Religious persecution and inequality is another major issue that needs to change. The current protests in Iran regarding women's rights are at the forefront of inequality for gender discrimination. No matter what religion or culture you are a part of, everyone should be able to have the same freedoms as their counterparts. Women should be allowed pursue their education, drive automobiles, and dress how they want while still following their cultural beliefs. By prohibiting certain groups of people from being able to have freedom in their choices, is discrimination and should not be accepted. Finally, we are in the year 2022 and inequality is still a major issue that needs to be addressed worldwide. People should not be treated differently, women should not be treated as less than, and all minorities should have equal rights. Until everyone starts believing this and put actions to words, things will not change. The young people of today are going to have to drive this change if they want to see something different. People need to vote, they need to become advocates for change. We can't just sit back and watch, we need to take action. If we don't, this vicious cycle of injustice will continue for generations.
Learner Scholarship for High School Seniors
I am pursuing a college degree for several different reasons. First, I want to learn more about how to help people. I am a very compassionate person and my goal is to become the best advocate for people that I can be. I'm still debating on what field of study suits me best; education, mental health, or social services. During my high school years, there have been two students who have committed suicide. I saw the aftermath that this left on the parents and students. This sparked something in me that made me want to potentially pursue a career in mental health. I am also a huge advocate for equal rights for all human beings. Whether that be the LGBTQ+ community, minority, children, etc. I feel that all people should be treated fairly and have equal rights. Second, I want to follow in my mothers footsteps. She received her college degree when I was a toddler and throughout the course of time, I've seen her progress in her human resource field of study. She started as a temporary worker and is now a Manager. Watching her progress has shown me that a college education is what is needed to further my career goals. In comparison, my father was a high school drop-out and he has not had success in the workforce. Based on his lack of education, I have seen him go down a very bad path in life. He has been in and out of prison for drug dealing and I lost many years of getting to know my him because of this. Since he had no education, it was hard for him to find a job and therefore resorted to drug dealing. I was fortunate enough to see both ends of the spectrum and that's why pursuing a college degree is the life path I am choosing to take. Lastly, I want to become a better version of myself. I want to learn all the things that I can, and college is where I will be able to start my learning journey. I would like to obtain all the knowledge that is provided and share that knowledge in the field of study of my choosing. I love learning and I can't wait until I get to start my college education, so I can further develop my skillset to help others that may not be able to help themselves. Thank you for your consideration.

Applying for scholarships has been a time consuming and dedicated task. However, the time spent on applying is worth the potential reward of being selected for a scholarship. Every essay request is a chance to express myself on a different topic. The process is also very selective so I find it very important to put effort into each application. My thought process is that if I truly want to be selected, I have to take the time to make it the best application I can. I would love to receive scholarships so that I can afford to go to my dream school and further my education and be a successful, contributing member of society. Thank you for your consideration.

My dream would be to help teenagers who are contemplating suicide. I have experienced two students in my high school that have committed suicide and it made me wish that I could have helped them. The pain of the aftermath of suicide affects so many, which is why I want to help.
