Hello! I am Katy, a student in Kansas City passionate about making the world a better place! My vision is to create free mental health clinics in low-income areas all around the country. I am starting with online and in-person anonymous meetings with mental health resources. I KNOW we all have the ability to help each other more than we think and are capable of changing so many lives by showing genuine kindness to others. I hope to use every bit of knowledge I learn in school to directly apply to helping the community through my outreach project to help domestic violence victims in Kansas City. I will use my project to show the positive effect that resources and community have on safety, mental health, violence, and more to contribute to academic research. We all deserve to have a chance to talk about our feelings face-to-face with kind people anytime we need to, not on a hotline, not just when our appointment time comes up! I plan on revolutionizing the mental health system with a trauma-informed perspective and bringing education and resources where we need it most. I hope we can keep this excitement and momentum for helping create change on as many platforms as possible. Let's spread kindness like wildfire!
