Unique Definition: Being one of its kind; unlike anything else. Now, I am not unique, by definition, I don't think anyone can be. I do have some unusual goals and character traits. My given name is Katie Faye Griffin, and I go by Katie. I have short hair, it has been short since 7th grade. I gave myself a buzzcut twice. I love abstract art, my favorite paintings are just shapes and colors. I like to draw with markers, my favorite things to draw are eyes, faces, and monsters. My absolute favorite things to draw are monsters that could look scary but are sad, whether they are lonely or grieving. I like the conflicting messages the creature presents. My goal is to move into an RV, to live in it. I like for my space to be neat and uncluttered. I am in early college which means that my options were: to graduate high school and get my associate's at the same time or have two years of college toward a bachelor's degree when I graduate high school. I chose the latter. I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology and I intend to work with animals when I have finished my schooling. Some of my previous career interests were psychiatrist, trauma surgeon, and animal behavioralist. I get good grades and I am known in my house as quiet, responsible, and organized. I am a vegan. In 7th and 8th grade I made a few vain attempts to go vegetarian. I had little support and not enough knowledge to do it successfully. I went vegetarian on November 5th, 2019. One full year later on my "Veggie-versary" I went vegan. The difference between vegetarianism and veganism is this: Vegetarians do not eat the bodies of animals, this is the only restriction. Vegans do not eat the bodies of animals, they also don't eat animal products such as milk and eggs. I went vegetarian and then vegan because of my morals. I feel that it is wrong to contribute to the suffering animals go through in the factory farming and slaughterhouse process. I wrote an argumentative essay on animals in factory farms and slaughterhouses in 9th grade. I try to be reasonable, I am the only vegan in my house of six people, and I do not prepare a speech every time we have tacos for dinner. Besides, the present is the best time to be vegan as there are so many more options in stores and restaurants for plant-based meals and products.

The heavy use of social media and online games has a negative impact on younger generations. Social interaction is no longer necessary to make friends or to meet partners. To add to this disconnect, the coronavirus quarantine caused many people to further isolate themselves. Getting back into the world can be anxiety inducing. I have personally been affected by the reliance on social media and online interaction as well as quarantine. I have an introverted personality and find that I have a small social battery, meaning I need time to recharge on my own before and/or after social events.
