One new technology that I am excited about is robotic pollinators, or robotic bees. Robotic pollinators function like a regular bee, aside from not physically touching plants and simply air blasting pollen. These bees are engineered by Israel-based Arugga AI Farming and they can fly as far as thirteen feet in the air. I am excited for them, or more of them to be released, because different species of bees has been listed under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, which means that they are an endangered species. Additionally, in 2017, the rusty patched bumblebee was listed as the first bumblebee to be endangered. Robot pollinators also reduce the risk of disease in both humans and plants, as the robot pollinators air blast plants instead of physically touching them. In 2021, it was reported that each robot pollinator costs approximately $10,000 each to manufacture but the revenue and other amenities, like collecting data, that robot pollinators bring in make it worth the cost. It is extremely important for us as humans to recognize the severity of different species of bees being deemed endangered. It is important because we need bees to pollinate crops, flowers, and trees, which brings in revenue and sustains the human race. Without bees pollinating trees and other plants, we as humans cannot breathe the air on this planet because trees emit the oxygen that we need it. Without trees being replenished by pollen, they slowly will die out and so will humans and other organisms. With all that being said, my excitement for the robotic bee to be better established is definitely validated. Of course, I would rather us as humans find a solution and increase organic bee's lives but if solving the pollen issue can be resolved with robotic bees, then I am all for it. I want Earth to be sustained for as long as possible and with the technology of robotic bees, and humans taken care of the planet, it will be made possible.
