Even as a young child, I’ve always been fascinated by planes, not just because they defy gravity, but because they embody precision, freedom, and endless possibility. To me, flight has always symbolized the balance between discipline and adventure. My longing to become an airline pilot isn't merely about flying, but also pushing myself, leading with purpose, persevering through obstacles, and inspiring other young adults to fearlessly chase their own dreams.
I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where I’m also part of the Honors College and serve on the Chairman’s Advisory Council. At Embry-Riddle, I'm given the opportunity to surround myself with like-minded individuals who share my enthusiasm for aviation. Being a student representative on the Chairman’s Advisory Council has allowed me to share my perspectives as a student, athlete, and flight student, and work to better the program for others. This is the type of footprint I strive to leave on the aviation industry. Every class, flight lesson, and conversation with a peer reminds me why I chose this career: to combine technical skill with leadership, collaboration, and lifelong learning. My journey to Embry-Riddle began at Cuthbertson High School in NC, where I graduated with a 4.73 GPA and a class rank of 4 out of 505. Balancing academics with athletics, leadership, and flight training taught me how to manage stress, excel under pressure, and stay focused, all of which are skills necessary in the cockpit. As captain of my high school varsity track and field team, I earned All-Conference, Regional, State, and National qualifications. Competing at that level wasn’t just about the sport; it taught me resilience, commitment, servant leadership, and how to stay composed when it matters most, qualities every pilot needs. I am now on the Track and Field team at Embry-Riddle while simultaneously pursuing a higher education and in flight training.
Outside of athletics, I’ve always believed in serving my community. I’ve been a National Honor Society officer, President of the Ambassador Program, and a member of both the Superintendent and Principal Advisory Councils. Through volunteer work with the Special Olympics, Pony Club, and coaching youth athletes, I’ve learned that true leadership comes from empathy and action. Whether I’m teaching a younger swimmer how to improve their technique as an assistant coach or lifeguarding to ensure safety, I take pride in creating environments where others can grow and succeed, and I can’t wait to continue leaving an impact on the aviation industry as well.
In 2024, my dream of flying literally took off when I began my flight training at Aerowood Aviation. I then earned my Private Pilot Certificate in May of 2025. In my first semester of my freshman year at Embry-Riddle, I added my instrument rating to my certificate. Through all the hardships, my love for flying and the aviation industry has never faded. Joining my local chapter of The Ninety-Nines, a community of women pilots, has connected me with mentors and peers who have shown me the great possibilities through perseverance and courage. Their encouragement fuels my determination to one day sit in the captain’s seat of a commercial aircraft.
Every experience I’ve had, on the track, in the classroom, and in the cockpit, has prepared me for the challenges ahead. Aviation demands precision, humility, and heart. I strive to embody all three. My goal is to become an airline pilot who not only flies with skill and confidence but also opens doors for others who dream of aviation careers. I want to prove that the sky is not the limit, it’s just the beginning.
