Bio

My life goals include helping people and being successful on my own. As a woman in STEM, I will be faced with a lot of gender discrimination, however I believe I will be able to overcome this fairly easily because of the leadership roles I have had in the past, and currently have. Currently, I serve as the Battalion Commander in JROTC and as the Drum Major in Band. With both of those leadership opportunities, I have been able to get through many obstacles.

    Bold Influence Scholarship
If I was able to put my opinion out there and have a lot of people listen to it, I would stand for equality. Because equality is such a broad term, there are so many things I would be able to stand up for. Women, colored people, muslims, and other minorities need people brave enough to speak up and fight for them. As a woman, I face many different challenges that I would not have to face if there was not such a big gap in equality between men and women. Although over the years the inequality has become less of a gap, even in 2021 there is a huge problem with the gap. Equality is one of the biggest problems that society faces today, and getting as many people to fight for it as possible would cause a great change in the way people look at others. I truly believe that equality is the most important thing to fight for in this society.
    Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
Technology has the ability to change the world in so many different ways. We see technology changing lives everyday, whether it's smart phones, tablets, new medicine, or even new machines that help people within the doctors office. One of the huge pieces of technology that inspires me is prosthetics. I find it so amazing that doctors and engineers have the ability to help someone without a limb, live a better life. Around the world, veterans make up a lot of amputees. By giving veterans the access to prosthetics, they have the ability to live the normal life they were used to before their incident. Much like veterans, people who have lost limbs due to diseases like cancer can be given the life they use to have. Although people cannot go back to their original lives, by giving someone a new limb in place of an old one can be life changing in itself. The use of technology in medicine is astounding and unbelievable. Everyday, new innovations happen which increase everyone's chance at living a healthy and normal life. At the rate we are going with technology in medicine, there is a strong possibility that we will be able to fix the strongest of genetic diseases and strong viral infections. Technology is either good or evil, it's all about the way it's used. By using technology for good, medicine and machines are able to improve. By improving machinery and medicine, life threatening diseases, syndromes, and infections have the possibility to not be so life threatening.
