I imagine a world where, wherever I go, I’m surrounded by peaceful, healed people.
But the world I live in is different. I live in the places most are warned not to go. Yet behind every “dangerous” place is a story rarely told. Stories of people forgotten, neglected, and pushed aside.
“The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.” — African proverb
That quote stays with me. It reminds me why I’m pursuing my Master’s degree: to help rebuild the villages that have been burned. Because around me, I see hundreds of them; lives, communities, and futures scorched by neglect, inequality, and generational pain.
My mission is to help restore what’s been lost; to rebuild trust, opportunity, and hope. I’m committed to rebuilding today’s villages, and I want my impact to be felt in perpetuity.
