It took me to look back as far as I could to get as far as I am today. My grandmother told me her grandparents were not born free. Over a century later, I am the first in my family to graduate from college with my bachelor's degree and now working to obtain my master's degree. My goal is to become a licensed clinical professional counselor and provide family therapy to as many families as my time on this planet will allow. When my time on this earth ends I would like to say through providing therapy I significantly lowered crime rates, raised the college graduation rate, lowered incarceration rates, lowered the percentage of single mothers, raised economic stability, lowered the infant mortality rate, lowered the rates for heart disease, stroke, and heart attacks globally. It’s possible and the only obstacle standing before me is having the financial means to earn the education necessary to impact the world positively.
