Hi, my name is Lexi Ramsey. I'm a senior in High School and I want to make a change in my life. 4 years ago I went through a rough time I guess you could say. My parents had just gotten divorced, I felt like I had all kinds of freedom, and I didn’t have a care in the world. I made some decisions that I am not so proud of to this day. Ever since I made these decisions I have changed for the worse and I want to make myself better. I have drifted away from God which makes me sad as can be. This past year I have worked hard to achieve my goal, which is trying to become a better person and making a change in my life.I have filled my life with people who will bring me up instead of bringing me down. These people, God being one of them, have made me feel like even though I have made mistakes in my life that I am still a good person and can always be better. People, including myself, make mistakes all the time. No one is perfect and God sees that, he sees that yes you’re going to make mistakes but own up to them and take action for what you did. Writing this essay for this scholarship has brung up some memories that I wanted to keep in the past but it has helped me realize that I have made a huge difference in my life than what it was 4 years ago. It’s made me realize that I am such a more happy, outgoing, God loving girl than I was. It makes me so happy to see that I have made a change and even though I see the change I still want to strive everyday to make myself a better person, not only for me but for God and everyone around me. This scholarship can help me prove to myself that people can change and if they push themselves hard enough, they can achieve anything they set their mind to. It can help me go to the college I strive to go to, this is where I can become a PTA which I have always dreamed of ever since I was a little girl. If I get this scholarship, I plan to be more welcoming to people no matter what their past is. People can change no matter the past and some don’t but it’s up to you to give that second chance and hope for the best or lose out on that opportunity and wonder what if. Thank you.
