Hi! I’m Katelyn Moon, a senior at Betsy Layne High School, set to attend Eastern Kentucky University this fall. I’ll be majoring in psychology with concentration in child & family psychology. My goal is to become a Clinical Psychologist. I have worked hard to prepare, earning a 4.0 GPA, graduating with high honors, and excelling in courses such as dual credit psychology (which also happens to be my favorite). As captain of my mock trial team, secretary of our National Honor Society, secretary of our Beta Club, treasurer of my senior class, and a co-captain of my cross country team I’ve been greatly involved in extracurriculars. If I’m not at school, you’ll find me in church. I’ve been actively serving in the nursery for the last three years, and now I’m leading a preteen small group where I have the opportunity to help youth navigate life while growing in faith. If you were to ask my small group “babies” about me, I’m sure they’d tell you you don’t know Kate unless you know about my obsession with chai lattes and my constant need to know what’s going on beneath the surface, whether it’s a rough day or a big dream. That’s just who I am and that’s exactly why I’m pursuing psychology.
